You mean like with nasri, ozil and the thousands of other players who leave for a fee with 1 year left on their deal? of course it will hurt RVP's value but he will be bought. back to the spud board I think totsfan mate
It is not quite so common with an injury prone 28/29 year old. Despite what RVP and his agent want you to believe he is a risky buy.
He's a risky buy. Not many big clubs that he'd go to. Even less that need a striker right now. Not entirely sure why he's being strung up by fans for saying pretty much what many fans have been saying themselves over the last age - investment is required, there aren't enough high-standard players at the club, the deadwood needs to be cleared out, the parity on wages gives no incentive to perform well etc etc etc. When he arrived, he looked around and saw Vieira & Henry and though "we can win things." Now, after years of squad breakup, he looks around and sees Chamakh & Park earning just a few thousand a week less than him and thinks "are you for real!?"
Transfer report from SKY SPORTS NEWS re: Van Persie.
Yes and Skysports.com posted an article about an hour ago stating that RVP is now likley to re-sign. (which has subsequently disappeared) Interesting....
There is something very strange going on. I wonder if there has been some kind of gross miscalculation on the part of RVP or his agent. Either RVP did not expect the reaction of the majority of fans, or the other clubs haven't been rushing to make offers. In any case they can't as Arsenal have said they are going to make RVP play out his contract. That would be an unmitigated disaster for him. It really is a big game of brinksmanship. He is older and not in as strong of a position as Nasri or Walcott even. One more year, and if it isn't a good one, he is essentially worthless. He really needs to sign a good 4 year contract now, not next year, and Arsenal can make sure they are the only candidates.

LOL He has pissed me off too, but IF he did sign a new contract, imagine how it would piss off all the yids and chavs It would be worth it just for that
If he did sign a new contract i don't know how i'd react to him on the pitch. I posted earlier that i'd heard a couple of times that the problem between RVP and the club stems from the length of contract offered.Apparently AFC have offered 3 years but RVP wants a minimum of four
......we, norwich, have just gone through a similar scenario with grant holt. he finally agreed to stay and signed a three year contract, but we don't know what the fans reaction will be once he gets onto the pitch again. on the message boards they are generally positive, but with some negativity. he, also, is our team captain, but no word yet on whether he will stay in this position. would imagine RVP would stay captain if he re-signs.
i would never boo one of our present players but i would harbour negative feelings towards him and he would have lost my respect...not that thats a big deal though
That's not a fair comparison. To them, Arsenal is a big game (God knows why ), to you Fulham is not a big game. What is the pice for the same ticket against Spurs or Chelsea?
If you were to compare seat for seat i'd say £51 at last season's prices.I was just making the point about ticket prices when people say w ar the most expensive in the world
I dont see what Van Persie has done wrong. It's Arsenals board that arnt showing any ambition.(we've been a little better this Summer though) He's unhappy with the way things are at the club as are the vast majority of Arsenal fans. He's a World Class player and i'm sure like all top players he has dreamed of winning major trophies. IF THE BOARD ARE NOT WILLING TO AT LEAST TRY AND COMPETE WITH THE OTHER BIG CLUBS THEN WHY HANG AROUND? The board need to convince him to stay and show some ****ing ambition.
