I really doubt if Wenger or Gazidis or the board will ever allow a player this kind of bargaining - "replace this one, move away that one, buy two world class... and then I will sign" Regardless of how big a player is it would be a huge, huge mistake for any club to allow this sort of talks. Wenger will not allow it for sure. Podolski is alredy there so one problem is solved, and RVP will not be able to state that "I can not carry you all guys on my own". And he is clever enough to know that even if he asks about this summer transfers he will not get an answer other than - "We will add quality if we find it". So I am pretty sure they will talk about money mostly. RVP and his agent surely already have a number in their heads. The fact that they will talk next week is encouraging - that means RVP is not really waiting for offers, even if it will help him to negotiate a larger salary. We will need to worry if these talks will be postponed until after the Europe Cup. That might mean Arsenalare not prepared to pay what RVP is expecting.
After last years debacle, we must not let the same mistakes reoccur this year. RVPs situation must be resolved before the Euros. Whether RVP stays or goes, it is Arsenal FC that is the most important. Next seasons preparation should be priority!
We never seem to learn though, i can see RvP being sold, and no replacement being brought in, because it "could hurt Campbell and Afobes development".
If this happens then the Arsenal fans need to let off full barrel at Wenger and co! But i have faith that they won't sell out the fans next season.....
Agree with this. I do feel that Rvp will leave personally but am more confident than usual that resources will be more efficiently utilised. I'm pretty certain we WILL buy a quality new striker. If for no other reason than because I don't think Campbell will get a work permit as he hasn't played enough games for lorient. Wellington silva might though and it's in his best I interests to come back to England and develope under the arsenal management
I'm suprised that we haven't been monitoring many strikers, just in case RvP does decide to leave. The only one i saw us linked to was Olivier Giroud, and having watched Montpellier vs Lille last night, he doesn't seem adequate (despite making Ligue 1 team of the season)
Have no idea depth I guess thugh here's the link http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...olivier-giroud-claims-bayern-interest?cc=5739
I can see us selling him for 30 million (probably to madrid), and not signing a replacement, despite Real having Higuain and Benzema (Callejon isn't too shabby either)
