Saints aren't looking to sell our best players, but doesn't mean things don't change. They may say they want to keep Virgil....they probably do, doesn't mean they are lying if they subsequently sell him. There is a price....especially if it is decided we need to upgrade in a couple of positions for the price of one player. I would love to keep VVD because he is more than a good CB....if he had stayed fit, I am sure we would have quite a few more points. I would keep him, but I'm not trying to plan long term for a football club.
Nobody, not even saints doctors or medical staff, will really know how he will return. Some players aren't the same after serious injuries. There has been little detail released as to what the injury actually is and when we can expect a return. Perhaps OP was referring to that rather whether the injury has healed or not? That's what I'd be concerned with if I were spending £50m on him.
Depends. If Virgil has any sort of written diagnosis and/or copies of scans, X-rays etc they will have access to hard facts and will know what the injury is and the likely prognosis. As for the agent lying, Virgil would have to pass a medical before signing for another club. An agent would have to be a total fool to pretend Virgil's fully fit if his foot is about to fall off. The information will get passed on however necessary. If needed Virgil and his agent could make a video on a phone of him in his garden running, kicking a ball or whatever to show a certain level of fitness.
I suppose. But if that were actually happening - apart from the bit with the phone in the back garden - then I'd imagine Saints would have to know about it. Otherwise it would be downright devious and quite possibly in breach of contract.
It would, but doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. Agents aren't supposed to speak to buying club before a fee is agreed but we all know it happens 'unofficially'.
Yup. The other point here is that we know transfers are sometimes agreed months ahead of time, Luke Shaw supposedly being a recent example. If Saints and VVD's people are negotiating with other clubs then I suppose they might even be sharing his actual medical reports.
We don't know that any negotiations are taking place. If reports are true we are talking to every team in existence. Lots may be going on, but remember it is very easy for a rumour to become hardened fact. Unless we are in a hurry because Virgil is spavined....in which case, pump him full of morphine and get shot.
He will keep them updated on everything, it's how agents know. So of course they will know how how Van Dijk is recovering.
They will know how Van Dijk tells them he is recovering. They will not make decisions, much less offers, on that basis. So either all the stories linking him with other clubs are bullshit, or Saints are actively colluding in his sale. One or the other.
Nope, they will have medical reports as well. Spurs did the same when they were interested with Jay when he got injured.
I keep seeing post saying bertrand is unsettled.then i keep seeing articals were bertrand is saying how much of a great club we are to play for. Does not add up if you ask me
