Just saw this on an "extreme messageboard" Craig Gordon rated 2nd best PL keeper after VdS http://www.castrolfootball.com/rankings/rankings/?position=4&nation=&team=&comp=#label
Interestingly it rates Henderson better than Sessegnon. Perhaps Sess should ask for some set piece tips
If Man U want Gordon & if Gordon wants to go then i would say Welbeck & 5m would be fair. Then we would have to look for a new GK maybe Given i would much rather keep Flash he is a exellent keeper
It is a distinct possibility he will leave, but for a hefty price. Thing is Gordon, as with all the best keepers, has many of his best years ahead of him. So why rush it if he is happy plying his trade with us which he genuinely seems happy to do? as per other posters - a top keeper is much more valuable than 1 striker. Think Scmeichel = Cole+Yorke+Teddy+Ole during their treble years
Just read this on SSN http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6705346,00.html Thankfully, there is no mention of Flash. I hope it stays that way!
Mirror mentions about 6 possible replacements on Fergies 'so called' list - DeGea, Lloris, Akinfeev to name a few, but no mention of Flash...... Hope its true !
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Contracts tie no one down these days - look at Darren Bent. As it happens, I think Man. U. will look first at Given - his price must be dropping by the minute now. If we do lose Craig, I'd like us to look at either Given or Guzan.
Mignolet your first choice nowadays isn't he? Is Gordon injured or just off the boil? When he came he had the potential to be excellent but he never looked consistant from what i saw of him - though i didn't see him as often as you lot i'm sure.
I think that Gordon had a very good spell for us once, but on the whole I have not been overly impressed with him considering the money we paid for him...And yes I do think the injuries that he has suffered has not helped him in this... The bottom line is that as long as we can get a decent sum of money for him, I wouldn't be too downhearted...
What was it £6m, or £8m? I remember it was something large but it was during the period when Keane was flashing cash all over the shop on hit-and-miss players. I don't know how that guy keeps getting jobs in football tbh, but lets not get onto that. Ah well, back in the halcyon pre-credit crunch days.
It was 9 mil if I'm not mistaken, although it was a LOT he was very good for us, and would be if he didn't keep getting injured!
