And our impressive start to the campaign, with an immediate return to the top flight looking a good possibility so far, surely won't do us any harm in terms of us attracting players of this quality.
This sounds a bit deja vu as well. Remind anyone of Toivenon (and before anyone says, I'm spelling his name wrong just to irritate him!).
A pretty sketchy, 'hand me down' report from Anglia TV (but hey, what else would we expect!) http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/upda...foe-to-mull-over-potential-norwich-city-move/
The player quotes are new to me, Cromer. Not an outright denial, anyway. KIO contacted the original journo in Belgium on Twitter and got this reply: Kristof Terreur@HLNinEngeland@Fourthandwrong: Vincent Mannaert, CEO Brugge: "We have an agreement in principle, but it hasn't been signed yet. Now it's up to the player." 02:56 AM - 25 Aug 14
Quotes from the player seem reasonable and respectful to his club. Bit of digging however shows he seems to want a move to England and we can give it to him. Hopefully take him to the PL ourselves but it's a better place to be noticed if not. I'd say the deal happens unless a PL team comes in.
That's my concern too, but we have the massive bonus that most PL teams who would interested seem to have a settled central midfield from what I can tell. Added to that is the concern that Odjidja has struggled with leaving Belgium previously - we actually have more breathing room for a player to come in and get used to the English style than, say, Burnley, who need someone to hit the ground running right away.
Regular direct flights from Norwich to Amsterdam should help if this is likely to become an issue. He could be 'home' in just over 2 hours.
At 25, he's not a youngster any more. All the signs look positive, but it depends on what he decides to do.
The ball is in his court now but he will almost certainly be our most expensive signing if he agrees terms, what we don't want is to put all our eggs in one basket and hope nobody comes in late to poach him we should give him a few days to think about it then go for someone else. Until a few days ago i had never even heard of him .
I thought that was what you meant Cromer, but two hours is still a bit optimistic for a flight and train or car journey. Also reasonable for family and friends to come over and see him.
Maybe coming back he could set his watch to GMT and get a free hour? We had a keeper that would do it easily.
