Now then you `orrible lot...Makem in peace (sort of)

I work with a Villa fan but we are based in Peterborough and neither of us get to see our respective teams often enough...

That said we are going to try and get to the game on the 29th.

In an ideal world I would be with the Away boys and he would be in the Holte end but that isn`t going to happen...

How "safe" would we be sat next to the away crowd (looks like M1 in the Doug Ellis Stand) and how likely would I be to get in wearing red and white?

I promise I am not a teenage idiot (rather a 40 something lawyer who promises to behave himself)

    Any advice gratefully received

    Cheers

Hi mate, a lot of villa fans are on a site called, appropriate enough, avillafan. Had some good reading but never posted.

I am on AVillaFan, recommend it if you want to join a Villa forum.

As for Aston Villa v Sunderland, I think (and hope) Villa will win it, but ...

I hope both teams survive to play in the EPL again next Season.

Sunderland allocation sold out...I know quite few fans who are travelling down without tickets because Villa were saying that Sunderland fans will be able to pay at the gate..Will Villa be able to accommodate these alongside the rest of the Sunderland fans or will they have to sit one of the Villa ends?

Away Fans have to sit in their allocated section for EPL games.

Looks like it could be a full house (or nearly so), maybe 40K attendance.

Just over 3 hours to KO now.

Well done to Villa, that's some tonking you've handed out!

Thankfully I was of the opinion that Villa were increasingly in a bit of form, and if Wigan are going to overhaul anyone it was more likely to be NUFC. Whether your lot won, lost or drew tonight, Saturday's games were always going to be more important.

Come 5pm on Saturday we'll have a better idea. If Wigan are 2 or 3 points behind NUFC the it's game on.

Would you rather go to West Ham or West Brom sauce? I don't know which one I would choose.I must admit that Wigan have more fight in them than Newcastle.

Having been beat by West Ham a couple of weeks ago I'd rather go to West Brom!

Truth is we're not in good form, results wise - 2 points from our last 12 - and I just want to see us go into the Cup Final with some confidence and some belief. But we're a funny little club, and all it takes is one change of scenario on Saturday - win for us, loss or draw for NUFC - and it'll all look possible. That'll give us such a lift against Swansea mid week - and if we can win at home and be out of the bottom three going into the final, that's a lift again. That's how this time of year works.

That was fantastic, evidence of just how good the Aston Villa team can be when everything clicks together.

    ... and 205 games later :

    2012/2013 29/04/2013 Aston Villa 6 - 1 Sunderland Premier 09 410 - Games attended

    Last time AVFC scored 6 : Season 2007-2008 Apr 12 SAT A 34 Derby 6-0 W
