Not totally convinced regarding dead cat bounce stuff..the players did a job on both Middlesbrough & Swansea so IMO capable and it’s a managers job to get the best from them. He needs time & patience by us fans.
If NP gets tempted by Newcastle because of what we have here in such a short time, then IMO he can do one.
For the record and in my opinion, he would be far more respected and seen a top class manager if he took the likes of Bristol City to the premiership.. he needs the rest of this season to work out what’s required, he then needs next season with players he brings in.
NP needs time, the belief and the backing from SL, otherwise we will be back to square one..

How many more chances do we give to certain players in our squad? They have been serially proved as being inconsistent for far too long and we have managed to add Mariappa, Lansbury and Sessegnon to the mediocrity.

I would say the first bit of Pearson's post match interview said everything you need to know "he said we were to passive", that is coach speak for gutless.

At least he can be in no doubt about the task he has now and the depth of mediocrity in the squad, some of whom have been at the club for a long time, it's not patience needed that ran out several years ago with some of our squad, it's players who are committed and consistent and I would say that is going to involve culling a lot of dead wood.

Well it is about patience from the fans, SL has gone out and to the majority of fans brought in a decent manager. Nothing can be judged by a couple of games & we are not all stupid enough to think NP has a magic wand....There's a lot of work to do, a few players that will leave and hopefully some decent ones to come in..
This seasons gone and to be honest, that's a good thing...NP has a good few league/competitive games to really assess what's required..
Not having patience with what we now have in place, does us no good whatsoever...

It's not about patience at all, not anymore.

How much longer do we show patience towards Hunt, Diedhiou, Paterson, ODowda, Rowe, Watkins? most have been with us more than long enough and have never displayed a modicum of consistency during that time.

How much longer do we show patience in a recruitment policy that has recently has brought in Adelakum, Mariappa, Lansbury, Sessegnon and Massengo.

I know you believe that it's about opinions but for me that does not wash anymore, the facts don't lie most of my 2 lists are either not good enough or never were good enough and some at best totally inconsistent, 3 or 4 good games a season from some of those on the lists is not going to be good enough.

I truly hope if he stays that Pearson can see what I would say is now what the vast majority of fans have been seeing and saying for up to 4 years, the squad lacks quality, it lacks leadership, it lacks consistency and it lacks balls, we cannot keep signing deadwood, players who had a good season once in the past but has lost his way, or i'm sure there is a good player in there somewhere type player, we don't need any more expensive future superstars, young players are coming through the academy nicely, we need quality, consistency, leadership and commitment and most of all a coherent and trustworthy recruitment policy, because what we have at present is not good enough.

Bit harsh on Tommy Rowe, he’s only played in his preferred position less than a handful of times. He’s been asked to play in a position and without grumbles that he’s previously played less than a handful times as well.

You can go all round the houses, but Holden and now Pearson have inherited a poor squad left by Johnson.
2 possibly 3 players from Johnson's squad will start in the line up at the start of next season.
An appalling legacy after 65 signings in 4 years.

Rowe is a great professional of that there is no doubt. But for me falls firmly into the category of mismanagement even when there was an opportunity to play him in his preferred position he was rarely played there by Holden or Johnson, he was signed as a back up player and ended up as pretty much a full time left back, he also falls firmly into another category of a dysfunctional transfer policy, the failure to sign a left back in January beggars belief, the loaning of Pring at the beginning of the season knowing that DaSilva was not fully fit was another huge mistake, these mistakes need to be eradicated they are symptomatic of how our club is run.

He is almost certainly never going to be played in his preferred position and he is not good/fit enough for a left back role anymore, we need somebody who is younger and more athletic to hopefully back up DaSilva and that might be Pring. Right back is a more pressing issue, we certainly need a better option than Hunt and again Nurse may well be a capable back up.

It has to be remembered that Pring is 23 and Nurse is 21 years of age.

Blimey talk about OTT by jiffie & RP, be getting the banners out soon!!
Those players put in a performance against Boro & Swansea two decent teams looking for playoffs..
Nige has been brought in as the manager to sort things out.. he needs time, games and patience by fans & club..
We know and he knows that certain players will need to move on and new players to come in..
All this crap about the 63 terrible players that LJ brought in is just getting so boring and tedious..
Overall we have a decent squad and NP if he’s worth his salt will sort the good from the bad..
if you think there’s gonna be a massive cull I think you’re deluded and gonna be very disappointed

    1. I did mention 'consistency'. The 2 wins amongst many defeats is not 'consistency'.
    2. Yes he does and hopefully, he will see what a majority of fans have seen for nearly 4 years.
    3. Yes we do, but some still want us to be patent about players who have been inconsistent for far too long.
    4. I have never said all of the 60 + players brought were terrible, but even you would have to admit that a very good majority of them definitely are and that is the point, the transfer policy is dysfunctional and needs changing, even recent transfer activity backs that up.
    5. Overall I would say that we do not have a decent squad and I would say the that evidence is overwhelming, 6 league defeats on the trot + 5 home defeats on the trot does not a decent squad make.
    6. Well, we will have to see about any cull, all I will say is Pearson chose his words carefully last night "passive and low maintenance" is not the basis of a Nigel Pearson team, he looked shell shocked during the game + the good news is quite a few of the players I consider mediocre at best are out of contract, so the process should be quite simple.

I just have this feeling that Rowe will be kept on for his professionalism. A lot of reports on NP is he likes a model professional to help with the younger players. Apart from Rowe I can’t see this player in our squad.

The legacy is fine, the squad in the main is weak, inconsistent, lacking in passion, leaderless, unable to carry out instructions.

You think the squad is decent, the majority believes what they see with their own eyes and the overwhelming evidence presented to them on a match by match basis (with the odd good performance here and there).

We have a run of games coming up against big physical teams, our biggest nightmare, best of luck with that Nige, you are going to need it.

I am very well aware of that, my problem is with the so called 'decent' squad of which there is little or no evidence of, especially when week after week, defeat after defeat the same names keep appearing in the good column (usually Bentley, Vyner and Kalas) and the same old names keep appearing in the longer poor column (usually Diedhiou, Hunt, Mariappa and Lansbury) of those presently playing and others who are presently injured.

The one thing that has changed for the good is at least there is an attempt to play the ball forward and attempt to create chances.

'legacy' - A specific asset left.

LJ left a pathetic squad, the overwhelming majority who are patently not up to the Championship.

Players who have had far too many chances already to show a consistency and have singularly failed and will continue to do so.
