Any chance we have of a result will be snuffed out by John Moss the incompetent twat. First minute failed to give a free kick to us on the edge of their box resulting in pressure on us and one of his even less able assistants giving a corner that should have been a goal kick which led to a couple of minutes of pressure. Nothing big yet but small decisions that are enabling them to camp in our half
Great result given we were against Moss as well (again). I was waiting a good 30 seconds to celebrate as I was waiting for him to find a reason to disallow it. Great effort by the lads, personally think that was the minimum we deserved
Can't agree with that given the amount of clear cut chances we squandered but, by the same token, can't begrudge you the point as it was hard earned.
I said to my dad in a message to him that Man U would feel hard done by with the result given some chances but we had good ones (Maguire and Fuchs) and should have had the pen on Maguire. Okazaki pulled down edge of the box (same position as your second) but we didn’t get a chance to see if we’d have score a similar free kick. I say we deserved a draw as we were against the antics of the Man U players and Moss all game. Maybe minimum was an overstatement
There was less in Amartey’s first booking than Pogba’s which didn’t get a booking. It’s the inconsistency
Amartey's antics surprised me. He normally seems quite level-headed but last night was anything but, and he definitely deserved 2 yellows. Presumably we'll be struggling to find a right back for the Watford game if Simpson is injured. It was a great battling performance and we showed tremendous intensity when Okazaki came on. There were some excellent performances from Ndidi and Maguire, but for me Marc Albrighton was the standout player. What a competitor that guy is. He played left wing back, left winger, right back and even central defender last night. He covered so much ground and was still sprinting backwards and forwards and making challenges after 94 minutes. He got back and defended whenever we lost possession, got forward to support the striker, went past defenders to create space and he is our best deliverer of a cross by far. So often he is the unsung hero of the side who just goes about his work with quiet determination and with no flourishes and always gives 100%. As for our right hand side, we got taken to the cleaners yet again last night and were lucky to survive. Young, Martial and Mata couldn't believe their luck. If we have ambitions to go further up the table we have to address the lack of defensive qualities when Mahrez plays right wing. Again last night he was totally powder puff when it came to getting back and defending properly and effectively. He was just wandering about and letting runners go all match. Just not acceptable. Liverpool could get a hatful if we don't improve in that area.
