I do understand the dislike/hatred of Warnock but he has been an absolute revelation to us. We were in a shocking position when he came in, 3rd from bottom mid-winter, he got us clear from that and got us auto promotion the next season all on a minuscule budget. It was a shame we got ourselves in a position that we needed to be Warnocked, but we're a much more united club, players/fans than we have been for a long time. This game against yourselves and then Huddersfield are huge for us as we need some points on the board from either, as our next games are Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City... Maybe a good time to play Arsenal, but I don't see many points coming our way there.
You play City, Chelsea then Arsenal, we have Chelsea, City then Arsenal all pretty much at the same time (we play them pretty much the week before you do) two of the games are at home which we will of course win so they'll be looking to bounce straight back and give your boys a tonking #bottombychristmas
Is anyone going to do the Match Day thread for the Cardiff game? Are we playing Caerdydd in the cup or something?
I'm a little more lenient with Warnock, maybe because I'm from Yorkshire. Think him and Sheff united got a pretty raw deal in there relegation and he's pulled diamonds from **** on plenty of occasions. Plus I thought the failed spell a Leeds verged on hilarity. Perhaps I'm ignorant, but you're a shoo-in for relegation. The surprising way you made it to the Prem, coupled with a manager who has little success in surviving this league, means in my predictions you'd come bottom. Warnock will probably depart about 25-30 games in so another manager can have a crack at saving you. It's not that simple mind and if it's any consolation I've got us between 15th and 18th in my head right now. This weekend is too unpredictable to call, our record against teams that can sit back more has never been too cracky.
Yeah, his spell at Leeds was comedy gold. As I say I'm blindly optimistic with nothing to back myself up with, but that's what comes from suffering City for 40 yrs. Surviving a first season will be a success then hopefully build on that, if we go down, we are in a good position to go again, we haven't chucked millions at the wall hoping some will stick. Wasnt happy with the result at Bournemouth last weekend but it cheered me to see £100mil spending Fulham lose at home
There's a fair few on here in the same boat as you on that one mate, Joselu scored and Mitrovic didn't Could be worse mate, you could have Pardew in charge instead of Warnock! I can see it now, you're bottom at Chrimbo, Warnock gets the bullet and Pardew is brought it...he'll save the day and then proceed to Pardew each and every single one of your players the following season...then he'll be sacked 18months later (at best)!
Fate worse than death. Every time I've seen Pardew down here he's had **** from the crowd every time, mainly because he can't keep his mouth shut before games, giving fans ample opportunity.Don't think he likes us much. Though we have survived ownership from Sam Hammam, Peter Risdale and Vincent Tan{ before he finally understood that we don't play in red} so a gentle Pardewing may not kill us... Unless we are being humiliated every week I think he's pretty safe, he may quit of his own back though.
I was suitably pleased. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Fulham per se. What I hated was the media handjobs that were given out purely because 1) they'd spunked so much cash, and 2) because they're in London. Nobody knew any of their big money buys. All this pretence that the signing of Seri "showed their intent", when the 'experts' had no idea who or what Seri actually was. Mitrovic is a bit of a lump. A bit slow, not a great finisher - BBC Sport's commentary said "Fulham are crying out for pace up front". We lament the way our board controls our spending, but some of the cash flying about was absolute fcking nonsense. I'm definitely not biased when I say that there should be extra points given out based on the EBITDA.
They were the pundit's favorites last season as well, apparently, they play football the right way and they are from London, easy access for journos. I'm happy enough with our business this window, we've picked off the cream of championship players and if they make the step up, great if not they are ready for another championship battle. The only unknown is Victor Camarasa who we have on loan from Real Betis, if he plays on Saturday it'll be the first anyone sees of him. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst...
When we were linked with Murphy the Norwich fans thought you had the better twin, that may have just them being pissy though, we'll see. I've been impressed with the little I've seen of him so far.
Ours hasn't really pulled up any trees, but he's never really had a run of games in the team. Shown some decent glimpses but we'll see (or maybe we won't). Don't think he'll get in ahead of Kenedy or Ritchie but I'd prefer him on the bench to Atsu.
It's nothing personally against Cardiff, I'd hate any team that he manages, then go to being impartial to them as soon as he leaves.
