OK, better from us. Free kick from Van A hit bar. Arse still have more possession but they are not getting the space they had in the forest 10 mins and we are not giving it away as much

Arse largely in control now. Ball keeps coming back as Defoe often isolated. Would be happy to get to half time scoreless... Hang on , free kick to Arse in dangerous position

We should have had a pen there, Defoe shot blocked by Mertesacker, definite handball

    Surely not another ref conspiracy.

    Was it that clear cut?

    Gary Bennet:
"It's got to be handball if Mertesacker stopped it - it was on target for a goal. He stopped a goalscoring opportunity, OK he turned his back but still. That's exactly what Defoe's saying to the referee."

Mertesacker had his hands in the air, not by his sides, shot was on target. Clear penalty. Commentators all agree.

Not as clear cut as an Aguero offside but you see them given more often than not imo

"Replays of that chance show it was Arsenal's turn to have a penalty appeal waved away, with Alex Iwobi's shot blocked by DeAndre Yedlin arm. Again, Mike Dean isn't interested."

Maybe pick the ball up and run it in for a touchdown. See if Mike Dean allows it?
