I hope that the following are dawning on some fans: 1. Giggs is not good enough and experienced enough to manage United 2. It has not been all Moyes fault. 3. Like I said when the slide started the players have been **** and some are clearly not good enough. 4. United need to spend a lot of money to rectify this awful squad. 5. The bottom has not been reached and it will take a long time to turn United round. Those who think we will turn into world beaters with a new manager are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Or Giggs honeymoon period was over before it starts and what we actually need is a strong, capable manager who is going to play our best players rather than his mates or safe players Lets see how that does first eh? Weve had 2 poor managers. They are the issue. You cant just claim it proves anything. If van gaal fails, then we know weve tried someone of the right quality.
Or the common factor in both scenarios is the players? Giggs and Moyes end up resorting to the same tactics despite being complete opposites i.e. one was allegedly clueless while the other is United through and through and knows the United way. How can two managers with completely different footballing ideologies end up doing the same thing? Answer = limitations with the squad. I can appreciate that Moyes had his faults, but if you're laying the blame solely on him and not at the players as well, some of who are finished or clearly not good enough, then I'm astonished. I agree with most of what Christian says, except I don't think we need a big overhaul or that it will take much to compete at the top again.
Giggs played tge same formations and the wrong players. Where were tge youth, the guys with something to probe. Januzaj phased out by moyes and missing under Giggs. Is young one of our best players? Is he ****. Giggs got the line up wrong last week as well. Shocking selection it was. Glossed over due to a win. If tge managers stopped picking immobile players we wouldn't get left behind.
He definitely picked the wrong players but he did bring on Januzaj very early in the 2nd half. The only other player was Welbeck. Agree his starting line up was poor, but the reason why we're so upset about his starting line up IS because there is some real ****e in the squad and we as fans are trying to put together line ups which avoid those **** players. So when he chooses the likes of Young or Valencia we bang our heads. But certain players he has no options at all - Carrick, Fletcher, Cleverly, Fellaini - there's only so much he can do there. So some of the problem is also imposed on him. Where Giggs fcked up was on his substitutions - you're right he looked after his mates there. So I do blame him also. Taking off Mata and Nani was bollox. What is the point of leaving two static midfielders on the pitch.
Lets see how we do under van gaal. Hes closer to Fergie in his man management style and a very offensive coach.... Both on tge pitch and in general Anyway, Liverpool fans are angry. They think we are upset about this result and are using it as a response to our collective laughing at them.
I can understand your and many people's optimism. But the reality is that most of the players who have performed well for fergie just cannot do it now for whoever is the manager. This isn't necessarily some voluntary drop in performance or lack of motivation. It is almost an inevitable consequence of someone who has been at the centre of everything at the club leaving a huge void. It may take years of drift before something clicks back into place.
I certainly didn't do the Poznan. But you have very short memories as fans. You celebrated our relegation a few seasons ago in an identical way to the way a few hundred of our fans celebrated City winning. Big deal. Fans do these things all the time. Fir some reason Utd fans bear a grudge. Anyhow. 're the game, tell Giggsy thanks for taking off Mata at a point where he looked the only one capable of unlocking our defence
This! It was unreal how quickly Sunderland's game plan changed. From a side pinned back in their own box they started attacking again. Now before anyone says, that should have played into our hands, Sunderland only did that because they had complete confidence we no longer had the midfield to break them down or pose a threat to their defence. Giggs plan to stick on 3 strikers while taking off Mata was akin to a guy who sells his only TV to buy a DVD player!!
Having travelled 4500 miles to see today's game (and do other stuff like see family), ive got to admit I am well and truly ****ing pissed off with the shower of **** I witnessed. Moyes has got to go. Clearly the players are good enough but are not playing for him. Sack the manager
Congratulations to Sunderland in being marginally less **** than you usually are. Well done. Now, anyone really still telling me this is still a team of champions whose lack of any effort whatsoever is completely down to the manager they just got sacked? Well, that is bollocks. I'd keep three of the starting 11. Jones, De Gea and Mata. The rest can get ****ed.
