Yeah, it's his fault. Nothing to do with the ridiculous team selection. No, it's down to him. Van Gaal should have played Scheiderlin alongside him, Jones at centre half and Blind at full back. Instead, he decided to pick this back four and two senior slower cm's against a side with pace. Nice one.

Seem to just hit it as hard as he could to me... if he;d looked up, Cech was already half down and it only needed a dink (although probably harder than im making out). am not a fan of player at older age coming to us from other leagues is either they passed their prime or may not fit the PL style sure Arsenal did well but our formation were bad, Schneiderlin should started such matches, Blind is never reliable CB, too many pedestrian, stupid manager playing first team in league cup , and in his admission we are tired now .. playing young when you know Arsenal attacking threat. and needed to tie up ur back better things don't happen accidentally, but there are reasons for it

The midfield was definitely setup badly. Rooney needs to be on the bench because he adds very little value right now but I don't think the is at fault today. Carrick and Bastian never started. They definitely should never play together, especially if you have Rooney in the midfield. Herrera is getting wasted too on the bench for fat Rooney. <SAD!> Great precise movements from Arsenal.
