wow, some real bad blood between Maldonado and Williams. Was he effectively saying he thinks they've sabotaged his car!?
Great qualifying. Good to see Bottas into Q3 and Hulk and Grosjean up there. Great job by Kovalainen, didn't think he'd score points, maybe Lotus can still challenge for second with Ferrari and Mercedes not doing so well.
Well done to Kovalianen, surely he should be on the safe-hand river list if he isn't already. Hulk to get a podium tomorrow, you heard it here first.
Looks like we could have a good fight for 3rd in the race. Bottas underperformed today (his Q3 lap was slower than his Q1 and Q2 laps) but maybe tomorrow he could join Grosjean, Hamilton, Alonso and Hulk in that podium fight?
"Ferrari's Fernando Alonso sealed his best grid position for four races with sixth" Shows how far Ferrari have fallen back in the second half of the season. They may have the best driver pairing for 13-14 but if they can't give them a decent car all that talent will be wasted.
will Vettel give the dog a bone before the end of the season? I think if Webber doesn't win today he'll let him win in Brazil (so that's my vote for Brazil, take note!!)
No chance. Vettel wouldn't gift his Webber a win at the best of times, but if he wins tomorrow he'll have a chance of equalling Ascari's record in Brazil.
Yeah, Vettel seems happy to risk car failures in the quest for Fastest Laps, no way is he going to let something like a team-mate get in the way of another statistic.
Williams should drop Maldonado for Brazil - outrageous to suggest that the team would deliberately make his car slower
Hope so.. The US Grand Prix should be great for the first 8 seconds (time taken to get to the first corner...) after that it'll be a violent case of Deja Vu!
I wonder how bad the dirty side of the grid is this year, last year it was so bad Ferrari broke Massa's gearbox seal so Alonso could start on the clean side because it was thought to be worth about two places. If it's that bad again Webber will probably end up about 11th by the first corner.
No doubt! But looking down the grid, there are Hulk, Pérez, Kovi, Bottas, Gutiérrez and di Resta all close and with a lot to prove today so I'm hoping for plenty of excitement from them. I also think Maldo may fight his way through the field and then take out his own team mate, just based on his behaviour so far this weekend. Or he may spontaneously combust.
