You mean when you and others who have been defending Bottas said Hamilton was wrong that day? Yep, really ironic! With hindsight, I suppose that, having given such a petty penalty to Massa, the stewards had to give one to Lewis too.
does crossing a white line really equal wiping a driver out by accident? Also Webber was given a warning for the same thing crossing the lines and also 2 other drivers bumped wheel to wheel earlier in the race. The FIA are shocking. im all for a driver steward but the driver steward has to be the same and be consistent through the whole season too!
TBH, I was thinking that matching a penalty for Lewis with the one for Massa was a politically good action by the stewards; neither was a good sporting decision, IMO.
I think as they maybe got both decisions wrong, they should have brought everyone else in to really even it up!
my view is that both the penalties were poor. Whilst I do believe that it was Lewis's fault the fact that he had a puncture was a penalty in itself, hence the stewards could (IMO) have classed it as a racing incident.
They ARE being consistent, Massa was warned prior to receiving a penalty if he did it again he would be penalised (just as 2 drivers had been before), he did it again and was punished, quite frankly it's his own stupid fault. As for making a mistake that ends another drivers race but not your own, EVERYONE who has done this has been given a drive through during the race for at least the last 3 seasons, that isn't being inconsistent. And you'd think fans of a driver who has had so many drive throughs for exactly this type of incident (2011 anyone?) would realise this and criticise their drivers lack of concentration rather than the very consistent stewards. (not that I think it was anything other than a racing incident, but if you know what is going to happen if you **** up, don't complain)
