Clearly Ferrari are cheating by cutting corners and bribing Williams to crash into my beloved Mercedes drivers and give them penalties. Zero class Luca, zero class.
Totally stealing this from elsewhere... Vettel's 2013 Helmet designs: [NSFW] please log in to view this image [/NSFW] And then Mark's: [NSFW] please log in to view this image [/NSFW] (Note: None of this is actually NSFW)
After this anyone that can still say the FIA and Race Direction do their all to help Ferrari are kidding themselves frankly.
Who ever was directing the broadcast needs to be sorted out. And here's driver A lining up to driver B... lets watch his mechanic instead... Oh and Driver B is back, lets go back to the cars
Yeah i saw him in fourth and that he picked up a couple of best driver votes, so that was uplifting. I'd be lying if i said i felt bad about missing it though.
He didn't cause an incident, Hamilton swerved into him. It's not up to Bottas to prevent Hamilton having an accident. Also there was a lot less than a car's width and it's completely irrelevant how much space there is if someone else turns into you. Or did you also think it was Webber's fault when Vettel hit him in Istanbul, because he had about five car widths to his right?
I saw no swerving from either driver but Bottas should have been out of the way as he was a lap down. And he had room.
Tbh Hamilton's mistake reminds me of the time with Kamui at Spa 2011, doesn't see where he is and just turns into him.
If you move across the track and hit a car it's your fault, Hamilton moved across the track and hit Bottas who had kept his line, it's pretty open and shut. We've seen penalties for this type of incident before so no real surprise, should've been a Racing Incident in my book though.
I'm sure if that was Maldonado everyone would be saying he deserves some sort of ban or something. I'm not any sort of Hamilton fan but he was innocent today.
I think Hamilton moved back to take the racing line into the corner, and just misjudged whether he was clear of Bottas or not. Whilst blue flags mean obviously Bottas should let Hamilton through, he clearly can't just make his car disappear, so there's always going to be some impediment. In this case there was plenty of room for Hamilton, he wasn't going to lose a serious amount of time by being a foot further into the track than Bottas could have given him. Hamilton should have been wise enough to leave a margin when overtaking a rookie, rather than squeezing him, a move I doubt Bottas would have anticipated.
yes, Vettel was smart enough not to move sideways and hit a car that was unlapping itself, if you're the type of driver that challenges cars a lap ahead you should expect cars a lap behind to do the same and make allowances, you'd think after taking out Kamui in Spa he'd be more alert in such situations
It is funny though that 'karma' always finds a way getting back at drivers in F1, (Somebody who wasn't very happy with Lewis unlapping himself on Vettel and getting in the way with Alonso at Germany 2012.)
