    I'll make an attempt.

AIG pay shirt sponsorship PARTLY to target Utd supporters, the main attraction of this sponsorship however is brand awareness. Every single Newspaper printing a Utd player, every single game either televised live, after or as part of a highlights package worldwide will have their brand clearly displayed. For this level of coverage (i.e buying advertising for all those media outlets) the cost would far exceed football sponsorship. If your a Utd fan or not, you cannot ignore the message, when you decide to buy Insurance AIG will be in the back of your mind, as you have seen their logo, and it puts in your mind that it is a large, reliable brand (even thought behind closed doors is quite another matter). To go back to Keegan's sugar puffs commercial, regardless of sales drops in Sunderland, your still talking about that advert / brand after all these years, money well spent, No?

trying to find out when our new 'Barclaycard' stadium will be built and came across this

Got to agree with NoOneFamos though that trying to rename a existing stadium sounds like a marketing nightmare and Wonga changing Newcastle's back to St James Park goes a long way to prove it.

On the original topic you may be in transition and Sturridge is a great addition but earlier in the season was the most confident i have ever been going to WHL for a Liverpool match. Champions league qualification is essential and could attract the striker we are missing, if we had a Berbatov now Utd wouldn'
t be 9 pts clearwe'd be challenging them.

On the talk of our players (Bale) leaving I heard Gerrard say how if you don'
t qualify Suarez could be offcan't see it happening soon but like Bale Suarez deserves champions league football and eventually he'll get it..........maybe even at Tottenham..

This had me worried couple of weeks ago but Suarez himself has given assurances, though this in itself may mean nothing, however if Suarez leaves us for Spurs I will be amazed, Barca, Real, Bayern, possibly a russian club, possibly City but not Spurs.
I realise you like sneaking in on our transfer targets but taking directly from us - no :) (last line is firmly tongue in cheek, no offence meant btw )

To be honest there is no chance he'll come to spurs, doubt he'd want to and I'm sure a certain Daniel Levy wouldn't want to pay for him. Champions league is going to be hard but between you, Chelscum, the scum, blue noses and us everyone is capable and capable of co€king it up. So far we've been no where near as exciting but very solid this season, unbeaten in 9 now, that could be key.

I still think a big offer will come in for Suarez in the summer and he will go to Bayern, Barcelona, Madrid. Although, he would be much more suited to the 1st two.
I also think Bale will be off too though.

The good thing about Bale is he is a bit soft - don't know if you've notice him going down a bit easy - and having just had a baby being close to Wales and his family is his priority right now. Don't get me wrong we all know he'll eventually leave but if we can qualify he'll stick around for 1or2 more years.

I think that there's far more likelyhood of Bale moving in the Summer than Suarez.

simply view.. if you took bale out of the spurs side v west brom spurs could well have lost that one... are they a project thats serious? well who knows.. they have al lthe same issues we do but have done bettere at not losing. they have proabably a better set of players but are very light up front IMO.

Again we lose squarez we are scratching they lose bale they will be too.. both clubs would need to invest wisely if/when it happens to continue thier projects.

I don't fancy half the spurs players that are quoted about but there is good talent in there as well... which is why they are a distant 4th and fighting with everton and the non descript didaster that is now arsnela rtaher than really pushing the equally disasterous cheslea.

it is a good example of well run sensible spending and hard line with players though... thats for sure.
