Well kinda to be honest... We got rid of the dross that didnt want to be there and bought a team to get promoted from the championship. There's a massive gulf between the 2 divisions, and this team clearly ain't Prem standard.
Ridiculous assumption. Name one side that changed all their players aftwr promotion? The closest you'll get is a complete ****up like QPR who are a financial abortion of a club now
Every other club has made 2 or 3 quality signings though. We've failed to get any of the big names we were linked with. Even 2 or 3 would make a massive difference.
Big names? Ricarlison of Watford, Mounie of Huddersfield, Zanka, Propper of Brighton? Rafa has spent more than both the other promoted sides. 30 odd million!!! 5 new signings, half a team!!!
In fact we enjoyed it so much that we're trying to get back there as fast as we can. It's all a cunning plan to keep us enjoying our football.
Before you post anything on here, subservient cockwomble (however temporarily), please address your betters as "premier league cockwombles" or you get no bites. Thanks.
Some of you enjoyed it. Seriously though, massive task for any promoted club. The tv money doesn't come till the end of the year so there's a huge financial risk in investing in a promotion season. Most clubs don't take the risk. Nowt to do with you gannin oot though.
It's the club's fault - collectively. In practice Charnley probably made the most mistakes, but Ashley is culpable as the head of the empire. Just wish the empire would strike back instead of just going on strike.
I I can't say what went wrong with the deals, lots of **** can happen from intefering agents, players not wanting to come to a rainy country, other clubs having more wage bill gaps to offer players better packages etc. I don't get why we go to Mike as a fall guy. Rafa has a limited budget, but he has used it to go and buy 5 of the players he wanted. I think they look like decent signings, but maybe not very prudent in terms of allocation of resources. The most money was outlayed on a winger for example when we have loads at the club who can play there... yet we have no left back at all if we ignore Rafa's previous crap signing, are light upfront and our goalkkeeping situation is a mess. There have been key errors, and all signs point to Rafa for me. He was never told he would get enough money to compete for titles, top 6 etc like people make out.
I know it's very early in the season, but at the minute we don't look like we have the players to compete for bottom six!! Nevermind the mackem's low points total, I can see us struggling to beat Derby's!!!
