Quick thread for this one guys, I know there's a few degens on here like myself who stick a few bob on the golf majors. You definitely need a few darts in these things as you've a field of 150 <laugh>

My selections. All done with Paddy Power, who pay top 8 places each way. You may avail of marginally bigger odds but I prefer the extra safety net of the 2/3 extra places up for grabs.

Rory 12/1. My rationale for this, is even though he's played very little this year and is carrying an injury which is limiting his practice time is I always back him <laugh> If he's fit and on song he's the ability to destroy any field, particularly on a long, softish track like Erin Hills.
Rahm 20/1. Such a consistent player, has burst onto the scene like a proper superstar his long, straight hitting should see him thereabouts on Sunday if he sees a few putts drop.
Scott 30/1. A player whose as good as any with his iron play when he's on. Has been a bit indifferent this season but definitely focuses on the majors, he might have a 'going' week and if he does he could rip this place up.

Added with William Hill, paying top 6 places each way.
Noren 66/1. Definitely looks overpriced for someone who only a few weeks hit one of the best rounds you'll ever see round Wentworth.

Should be a good week and from what I've seen, the course looks fabulous, unlike that quarry they used a couple of years back. Hopefully I may see one of the above names on the leaderboard late Sunday night, but this being golf anyone can win.

Erin Hills needs good ball striking and a decent short game around the greens.
I got
Jon Rahm 22/1
Sergio 25/1, wouldn't surprise after the years of hurt, he goes back to back
Steve Stricker 125/1- home course, putts well and will need to this week.. possibly just one major appearance left in him, he couldn't could he!

All with william hill when they were best prices last night e/w 6 places

Unless Rahm or Noren can go out and hit a good one this evening it looks like I'm on for the clean sweep... of missed cuts that is <doh>

Fowler apparently put on a clinic on the greens yesterday and has started well again this evening. Can see him building up a healthy lead into the weekend but it'll be interesting to see how he copes with that pressure. Hasn't closed out anywhere near as well as he should on a good number of occasions before and of course we saw Lowry last year falter with what, a 4 shot lead (?) going into Sunday. Quite a few chasing their first major at the head of the leaderboard right now. I think I saw this major has had a lengthy recent history of producing first time major winners and that theme certainly has a huge chance of continuing this weekend.

Paul Casey hits an eight on one of the holes and is still up there on the leaderboard. He'll do for me. A little e/w to keep it interesting. Good luck all

My two bets have gone tits up Furyk is sort of on the fringes but will take some doing to make top 8 from there so to keep me interested on the last day i've just chucked a couple of quid ew Xander Schauffele at 150/1, not a chuffing clue who he is but he's got a cool name
