It certainly highlights the ugly, intolerant side of some posters.

I just see it as game for a laugh at all those involved. Generally, by the time they've worked out that they're fairly impotent, and the civil service run the show, they're out of office and a new victim's in place.

A conservative country?

A country of 300 million, of three different time zones, vastly differing climates, cultures, ethnic groups, religions, traditions, urban and rural....and you lazily lump them all together as a ;conservative country' like it's a bigger version of Luxembourg?

Well I'm not doing a crayon picture just for your benefit; it's not all about you, you know.

But, get you trying to be more progressive in this modern age by highlighting cultural differences.

Seriously, though. It is a conservative country. A country that, by and large, holds dear traditional, nuclear family values, strong religious ties and has strong themes of nationalism. It didn't need spelling out, or at least it shouldn't, that those factors contribute towards a conservative standpoint. It doesn't mean everybody is a conservative, obviously (he says sighing at the fact he has to explain this), it means that the nation itself is overall more right leaning than it is left leaning.

It isn't even up for discussion, it's absolutely been a conservative nation for the last four years and has been pretty much since its inception.

Any country that demands the right to own a gun just because it can, still has a legal death penalty and holds religion to a higher authority than human beings is conservative. I don't know why you're even arguing this.
 
I'm probably showing my ignorance, but I didn't realise how important some people in the UK think the US elections are.

There must be loads of democrats near me, because they've been celebrating and letting fireworks off all night.
