After seeing the first two games of Round 2, it emphasises the smart move notion of finishing 2nd in our group.

 

10 goals today, the most in a day of World Cup knockout football since 1970.

 

Ehab Allam put a stop to that, to try and make Abel sign a new contract. Maybe.

 

By hook or by crook I think The Brazil will get to the final from that side of the draw.

I think it's been the most I've watched a World Cup since Italia 90. It's been class so far.

Thought Brazil 4 years ago was a great one but somehow this one's been better so far.

 

I watched a lot of 2002 because we had the early games on at work but I think I’m the same. I’ve only missed a few games.

 

I remember seeing bits of 2002 from the numerous and different parts of the country I was in at that time, but I don't remember much about it.

Think I also threw the towel in post QF Brazil.

I remember Germany being ****ing ****e at the time, but still making the final.

 

I think the relaxed card situ from the refs, plus VAR has helped in terms of games being conducted 'fairer' and with enhanced drama.

 

Both matches today were simply brilliant!

It's going to be crap when it's all over and we're back to the routine of watching a sort of funeral and hoping the ****e get relegated.

Teams centred on just one man, are hampered, imo. as play seems to always end up having to focus on getting the ball to him. Argentina, & Portugal (to a lesser extent), looked limited and bereft of ideas, always seeking Messi/Ronaldo. A team sport cannot rely solely on these individuals - seriously attractive football and effective all round team performances from France & Uruguay. Some cracking goals today too but for me, France look the real deal.
