Looks like we have a manager at last , someone who can actually motivate the team and play them in there proper positions .. Onwards and upwards..
There always seems to be less action on the forum after a win than a loss. Some people are more noticeably absent than others though. Glad to see Mick changed it around a bit. Sounds like Carlos, N'daw and Tommy Smith, as well as the rest of the team, played well today.
Can you explain how it was 5-3-2 because I couldn't see it, then again I'm not known for my extensive football knowledge. Cheers .
For me it was 442...the reason it may have looked 352 was due almost entirely to Chambers having a poor 1st half. NRC spent the whole of the 1st half moaning at Chambers (well when he was taking time out from moaning at everyone else), Chambers was getting drawn in to the centre and not doing anything with the ball from an attacking perspective....Apart from 1 time when he played an early ball down to Edwards that led to DJs excellent shot (excellent save as well) late in the 1st half. THe other factor that contributed to our at times loss of formation at the back was Wellens was getting drawn in on the left, forcing Cressy at times further forward, thus looking like a wingback. It all got sorted at H/T though, thought we were much better after the break & well worth our win. Mick is here to keep us up, looks a good possibility after 6 from 9, it also looked as if the players are starting to show a bit more fight & determination.....COYBs
Mick will keep us up this season and I said that even after watching them at Crystal Palace the other night. We need to get around 1.2 to 1.5 points a game for the rest of the season and we already on track. If we can nick a few points here and there at places like Leicester then the job will get easier. Our home form is the key and now that we have finally broken our losing Hoodoo I see no reason why we can't kick on from here.
I think if we can close that 7 point gap up to 19th quickly (say, by the New Year) then we'll be fine. The longer we're in the relegation pack the less galvanised McCarthy will be. There is still a huge task at hand.
