I don't agree. Rooney might be a goalpoacher, but he also dictates the pace of the game, injects urgency and spots passes others don't. Cantona scored a lot of tap-ins, but it wasn't all he did. It takes good vision and anticipation to score so many tap-ins anyway.

I am a UTD fan and agree with most of whatyou have said re rooney. When he scored tonight ( very fortunate goal) I though great now all we will hear is how rooney is WC etc and ignore how terrible he was, no touch, no pace (any other english striker would have made decent job when he was released on the counter, rooney basically ran out of breath) and IMO no vision. People see the ball out to valencia as a sign of 'skill' thats a basic given if you have aplayer like valencia who basicall is lways there rooney has not fulfilled his potential, and against the Italians that header he missed may have been the only chance he gets
Ok, it's just a huge coincidence that the only 2 English clubs with a large anti-England contingent, United and Liverpool, are also the ones with by far the biggest Irish fanbase.

Zola and Bergkamp are the 2 most overrated players to ever play in the Premier league.* An unpopular opinion I know, but look how poor there goals to games ratio was in England. Both very skillful, but neither had much of an end product. The likes of Van Nistlerooy and Henry were twice as good as those 2*
