Chelsea don't lose their attacking ethos even when down a man or two. When they lost at QPR they were down to 9 men in the first half and still gave them a hell of a game.

yeah, but QPR were ****e that day. We played well against Chelsea. It doesnt matter that they can still play well with 10 men, being a man down is still a big disadvantage.

But would that stop Mata and Sturridge playing as well as they did? They tore holes in our left side yesterday. We deserved more but I just don't think we would've won had Luiz been sent off.

I would have thought Sturridge or maybe Drogba would have gone off for a CB if Luiz had been red carded. And that would force a formation change to something like this:

    Cech
    Ivanovic Alex Terry Cole
    Romeu
    Ramires Lampard
    Mata
    Drogba*

    *Or Sturridge.

Assming that's roughly correct, the game would have been very different.

As a neutral watching yesterday, it was a straight red for Luiz. I think 3-0 flattered Chelsea but that hole on the left was so obvious and Sturridge could have had a hatful. Newcastle have been lucky this season but luck ran out yesterday. I do not see you finishing above Liverpool.

they probably would have still had good games, but not quite as good. the game was finely balanced until the late goals, and i think that a man advantage would have tipped that balance in our favour

Your view but a good ref should keep control of the game so that the match is not 12 v 9 by half time

Agreed you would have scored against v us with 10. QPR were overawed playing Chelsea and bottled it. 12 v 9 for 60 mins it is impossible not to score again but somehow a shy rangers side stopped playing. They should have got four or five
