Bruce often talks about his strikers getting 10-12 goals each a season as we can't get a 20 goal a season striker. He wants 2 goalscorers upfront.

    This..

I like the 4231 idea as it potentially utilises our best player in each position and, also, real strength on the bench so that everyone gets a look in.

Can't wait for Spammers, Monday week :)))

I think with the new signings we'll start to see the very best of Jelavic. I think they will also bring the best out of the players who looked like they were playing for The Crown and Anchor at Villa Park. All coming together like a well oiled machine.

I'm calling it now, Jelvic and Ramirez are going to be the ticket.

NOTE - I watch all the Croatian games, La Liga, EPL, Seria A etc, and if you look at my first post you'll know that I'm not lying. Hell I told your EXACTLY what you got, and what you would get, and I've been 100% correct.

I've watched 90% of the games for Southampton last year because of Lovren. Ramirez has saved Southampton's bacon several times.

But this is what I really like, both are tall guys, and Jelavic wants to win, he'll run his ass off for 90 minutes and he's not selfish, what he does really well is heading the ball back into space when he can't do anything with it. I think Ramirez can have a field day with that. Hernandez, I just don't trust the guy, he reminds me of that Belgium guy at Everton.

If we get our **** together in the middle, we could start worrying some people.

Just my 2 cents, don't kill the messenger.

Jelly will play most of the time, and with the Hernandez along side him and with the improved supply they will get from Ramirez, Ben Arfa etc, he will get goals.

Jeez if these new boys click with our existing boys this could be dynamite.

Jelavic and Hernandez should both start at home for sure. With the additions we've made, we now have the pace and talent to try and positively dominate teams at home instead of playing keep-ball in our own half.

If we play 1 upfront at least SB has choices, pace with Hernandez or hold up with Jelavic.

SB has a tough job but if he can keep this bunch sweet, then we are top half material.

I think we will end up playing 4,3,1,2. With ben arfa as the 1. Elmo and robertson bombing diwn from fullbacks

I few people talking about a jelavic Ramirez partnership. Are they just getting the name confused with Hernandez? Or do some people think he's a striker? He's an attacking midfielder. Predominantly left sided, but can play anywhere across the midfield in an advanced role

On your own reasoning, why should he not play?
