After the Reading game yesterday I was stuck on a bus in a traffic jam listening to 4 different American groups who didn't know each other talking about the Game and Fulham. One was a ManUtd fan who went to their games, 2 were fans of Fulham who had been supporting Fulham because of the Historial links with American Players, and the other was a Family who lived in London but it was their first time at Fulham, and they had bought their small daughter a Fulham shirt, and that was now her team They were mostly complimentary about their experience at Fulham and about the game, but they all agreed they didn't understand why the home crowd would boo their own team, and not get behind them. I had to smile when the ManUtd one said he had never heard it happen at Old Trafford (I was going to educate him on the difference between ManUtd & Fulham, but I thought best not too).
And Spurs agreed a deal in the summer for WHL to host 2 NFL games a year from 2018. So I imagine the Jaguars will definitely be here twice for 2018-20, probably in consecutive weeks.
And finished with a win, their first in London, beating the Bills 34 - 31. please log in to view this image Mr Khan must be a happy chappy with a weekend double. Do you reckon he'll be in a benevolent party mood with Kit in the morning?
Reflecting on yesterday (not just the sunshine, the new formation, the win, the away support etc), but just how fickle this Championship is. So many top teams capable of being beaten, so many managers, and owners, under pressure for the holy grail of making the play-offs, or even promotion. More than any other league that FFC has seen since we were 91st. Made me think that the only thing that's Black&White in this Championship is Fulham's home kit, and that everything else is Shades of Grey. There are those who have consistently want Kit gone - I respect that view, but my concern remains that this is not just about Kit - although the Board/Management seem (??) to be starting to get their act together: let's see how hard we try to keep Dembele, and Husband. But what I don't like is booing Kit one moment then cheering his team the next. OK, Kit might get fired and we need someone move us on the the next level and get us back in the holy grail of Premier League, but I cannot not justify this now. Got me hard hat on for the brick-bats. Oh, and COYW!!!
It's the lot of fans to have diverse opinions GS; even with themselves from game to game. Critical to attaining that Holy Grail though is for the manager to have the full backing of the players (not the fans) and that seems to be the case at the moment if Jaimie O'Hara's tweet after yesterday's game is anything to go by: Mrjamieohara1 - 31 October credit to the gaffer for the change in style, worked wonders Confidence among the players after the last two games, not to mention the 8pts from the last four (better than any 'Crystal Ball' gazer anticipated), will be high. But nobody can deny that we've yet to demonstrate true consistency. The next two games against teams at the top of the League, Burnley away (have we ever won there?) and Birmingham at home, will be real testers. If the team comes through those having competed, opinions ought to be more level.
