Who remembers that glorious 2-2 and then the replay we won? Brighton were relegated that season but still gave us a good couple of games.

Think of Whiteside, McQueen, Robson, and Gary Bailey making that glorious save in the final few seconds to keep it 2-2.

The spirit of '83 will be injected into our side today. Plus, Maguire is suspended <diva>

I've broken my promise of not doing Sunday match threads so if we get hammered you can all blame me. But I want to believe. Let's fckin smash these southern softies :emoticon-0165-muscl

Don’t think I can bring myself to watch. Have a feeling we are going to get thumped.

Will be a tough watch, for definite. Brighton are tight as ****, and we're anything but after Thursday.

But they get paid loads though so should just man up and that!

    Team should be;

    De gea
    AWB
    Shaw
    Lindelof (depressingly)
    Malacia
    Casemiro
    Eriksen
    Fernandes
    Rashford
    Antony
    Pellistri

I'd actually consider having AWB and Shaw at centre half if it meant Lindelof didn't play. Dalot at right back.

How ****e is our defensive back up to Martinez and Varane if we're better off playing full backs there ffs!?!

    Very.

Would agree with that lineup .

being as spurs are getting hammered, maybe we could get Kane in the summer for 80m plus Maguire and martial.

I imagine Ten Hag is pissed off with Malacia's fck up in the first leg against Sevilla so he's not playing him.

But why Dalot as LB ahead of Brandon Williams who's always performed to a decent level there. He's on the bench as well. I don't get it at all.

That was a good first half with chances at both ends. Brighton is on point though.

Great plan replacing Fernandes with Weghorst.

You know what City are on for the treble and if we'd lost that semi-final, we couldn't look to anyone else but ourselves.

I'm at least proud of us in that respect.

It's in our hands to stop them, at least in one trophy and we should be going into that final with every fcking last bit of fight in us.

No fcking way they should be beating us given what's up for stakes here.

That was a 50-50 game. And unsurprisingly decided by penalties.

We’ll go into the final as serious underdogs. But we should be up for it as it would more than a cup. A chance to dent their chance to equal our unique treble.

Looking forward to the league games. Almost glad we're playing once a week now. Gives our important players a chance to recover.

We really need everyone back (won't be Lisandro ofcourse) and match fit. Garnacho and Varance especially. I hope it gives Rashford a chance to regain his form as well.

City have a hard fight to overtake Arsenal, injuries can mount and we could be at full strength come the final. We've beaten them once already and the motivation to thwart the pretenders should be enough. Looking forward to a thrilling final. My bet is 2-1 to us.

You would think that City has not lost several games this season. Even worse, you would think that they’ve never lost a final under Pep.

It won’t be easy, but we sure as hell should be looking forward to playing our best in that final which may be enough to win it. The idea that we have no chance is absurd.

Turns out we're not playing once a week just yet. Ffs <laugh> <doh>

I still think, if we go full out to win the next 4 games, secure Top 4 then start resting our best players and focus on the Cup final in the final 2/3 weeks.
