From the get go, no one could understand where Mount would fit. Just fkin horrible! The problems have nothing to do with injuries. Players are already coming in and we still can’t stop the bleed because the manager is not picking the team based on merits and with a clunky setup to match. That is our problem!
This is the complete misunderstanding you end up with when you don't watch the actual game. The injuries mean we don't have our best CB. Which also means we don't have our best CB pairing. It also means we don't have our best RB who would've been more than capable against Zaha, and I can assure you would've never been done like Dalot was for that goal. It also means Amrabat wouldn't have been playing LB, which isn't his preferred position and as a result he got done for their 2nd goal. It also means Amrabat would've most definitely played alongside Casemiro instead of Hannibal who was poor. You see how one, two or three injuries can have massive repercussions on the rest of the team? Even IF we account for Onana's catastrophic fck up, had all those other things I've mentioned not been affected by injuries we would've still won that game.
So your only two LBs being long term injuries and the man you loaned in as emergency cover also getting a long term injury is not the problem. The holding mid that you have loaned in to help Casimero out having to play emergency LB is not the problem. Your first choice RB (plus his RW partner) being out of the team is not the problem. A player you have brought in for a lot of money getting all baby like with the manager and not playing (could cover for RW) is not the problem. Losing your best CB who can also play midfield for a long term is not the problem. Why do we pay these players if missing them is no problem?
So when Casemiro needs a rest as he's over 30 and overworked, who plays? As Eriksen is clearly not capable of playing a full game, who plays? If Fernandes is injured or suspended, who moves across and plays? If Hannibal is shown to be patently not ready or quite good enough yet, who plays? If Sancho downs tools and spits his dummy and refuses to play, who plays on the right? If Antony ends up in some bother and can't play for a few weeks, who plays there? It's called having a ****ing squad. In case it's not been noticed, City have TWO players of the highest quality in every position. But, but, but, he gets in Bruno's way Utter ratshit.
30 years of dilemma winning in Istanbul. So far United has literally 0 wins there, 3 games and did not even score at all.
Most of what you've listed illustrates our lack of planning, limited man-management, and lack of accountability across the pitch. 1. Alvaro Fernandez was good during pre-season. Loaned out! 2. Brandon Williams is also reliable - Loaned out 3. RB position - don't forget that Dalot was once a first choice there. AWB is out but Dalot should be good enough not to cry about. 4.. Sancho and Antony are injury-related 5. Best CB? Martinez had been questionable, only to find he wasn't fully fit. But all along Maguire and Evans are still waiting. Another example - Rashford will keep on playing until he scores and ETH will go... "See, I told you! He just needed support". But how many points have we lost playing him over others every time? The patterns are self-destructive.
