Let's have a thread, seems I'm a bit of a good luck charm.

The only change I'd make from Saturday's starting eleven is Elanga for Rashford. Depends if Fernandes is free of covid I suppose.

What side does Joao Felix play off? Maybe have a better defender on him, so Shaw or AWB.

So, win and we're into the 1/4 finals. Anything can then happen. Possibly.

Unfortunately AM had hit a run of form right now, they are fourth in La Liga, level on points with Barca in third. Their injuries and Covid problems have eased too, so tonight will be a tough game.

Scott McTominay starts. Weak link but I hope I'm wrong.

Either Pogba's thrown a hissy fit because Ronaldo smashed it on Saturday OR the manager just doesn't trust him.

And let's be honest he was the weakest player against Spurs. Kept giving away possession and waltzed around as usual.

What a **** show - called it weeks ago but, of course, I was wrong and got slagged off.. Thank goodness we took on board an interim manager who has proved to be just the inspiration we needed. King Ralph, emperor's new clothes bollocks.

Are you a ****ing retard now too - I called this result weeks ago and was slagged off by the two/three disciples that govern opinion on this forum. The reality has finally struck home, Ralph is ****e, his coaching staff are ****e and why the **** didn't they just plan ahead, leave OGS in post and quietly write off the season. We're not an inch further forward than where we were at the start of the season - all that has happened is that sacking OGS has caused discord and discontent in the dressing room by replacing him with someone who ought to be managing in the Championship. If this debacle doesn't bring into sharp focus the enormity of the job of managing our club I don't know what will.

The story of the season under this manager. Flatter to deceive. We have lots of possession but ultimately when it comes down to beating a good team we simply are too far back.

let’s be honest and say that over the 2 legs Atelico deserve to go through. They dominated us more at their home than we did at OT. We were on top in the first half but second half simply not good enough. Rashford yet again a major disappointment. His loss of form is so obvious. The club needs a top elite manager and a complete reset of the playing squad.

I can’t see how you can disagree with my assessment if you’ve watched the match <whistle>

Yep, we should have stuck with Ole, we would be in second by now.
We may never have seen what Fred can do when allowed to get forward or how Dalot and Telles would improve with a sustained run of games but hey, what was wrong with what we had <laugh>

You can't debate or discuss, you simply throw around disparaging comments to avoid debating facts. Ralph is nothing - what authority and experience does he bring to our current setup...............nothing, in fact the facts suggest the opposite - and what might this great tactician of second tier Russian footie bring to his next role upstairs ......
Where does this blind madness end, Ralph is so far out of his depth it is embarrassing but the club - and all of you pilgrims on here can't bring yourselves to see what a massive **** up he is. The Spanish sporting press are taking the absolute piss out of us, deservedly so after that performance

And you don’t think over the 2 legs AM deserved to go through? Don’t be misled by the high possession we had in the 2nd half. Their MO is so well known. Once they get the lead they defend in depth and let you have the ball. And we were simply not good enough.

I didn't see an assessment? I have however watched us over the past 6/7 games and it's clear that we are far more creative, far more attacking under Rangnick. We just lack the finishing which is largely down to having no strikers other than relying on Ronaldo.

Then there's the defence, which is simply not good enough.

I've been looking forward to the summer for ages now. Once we appoint a permanent manager and employ better recruitment of players than we have for the past 6/7 years, then we can move forward.

And the same can be said of many "good teams" with "elite" managers.
Atleti are no easy pass for anyone and the second they got the first goal it was game over, they are probably the best in the World at that.
