Number 7 is crazy, imagine if it came to that now and knocked Brazil or England out. They could use yellow/red cards or something ahead of pot luck.
When they can't be separated, and you need 2 teams to go through, there is no other choice. I remember when Czech Rep played Turkey at Euro 2008, if they had drawn 1-1 they were going to have a penalty shootout to decide who went through.
like drawing straws but with numbers. Team a gets 1 team b gets 2 team c gets 3 team d gets 4 draw 2 numbers out of a hat and thats who goes to the round of 16
Germany should try to win the game at all costs, we keep hearing about how professional they are. If they gift the USA the game they will lose all credibility as being a professional team. Cardiff didn't do us any favours and I didn't expect them to.
You do realise Germany were involved in the last controversial moment like this? They won't care about professionalism. If they draw, they will still finish top of the group, Low will get to keep his German mates in the WC and vice versa with Klinsmann, and Ronaldo is eliminated early.

I think Germany will try and win. I just dont expect either team to take many chances. Germany will try and win, but not expose themselves. A 1 goal victory for Germany is plenty. The US will attempt to draw the game. The games are played at the same time. Someone will have a TV playing and be telling the teams what is happening. If Portugal is winning by 1 or so then expect the US to simply try and limit any loss to 1 goal. If Ghana is winning expect the US to try everything for a goal. It really depends on the Portugal vs Ghana game on what the Germany vs US game will see.
The fact that only 1 of the groups have been decided just shows once again how good this WC has been. In Groups C, E, G and H, any of the 4 teams could still go through. In Group A, Brazil could still technically go out.
if they went on Shots , Ronaldo would be able to get out the group stages on his own . A great player he is Ronaldo doesn't seem to be a team player , you just dont see him go mad when other players score , like tonight for example .
Just been told that Ronaldo didn't shake hands with anyone post match. Poor poor form. If true, there's another reason people don't like him... As well as not celebrating goals with teammates unless he is scoring them.
I cant imagine there is any bad blood between the US players and him. Half the US team plays in the MLS and none play in Spain. I also dont see us talking to much trash. These current players we have just dont seem like the type.
You've gotta admire Brad Friedel's restraint in the studio. The other three tossers were teasing/goading him all the time about his US team, and wetting themselves about Ronaldo's 1 and only contribution to the game. For once in my life I don't care if there's a suspicious draw between Germany & the US. Both managers & teams are too subtle to make it look suspicious. 0-0 draw is my prediction, with many potential scoring chances not even developing. At least I hope so. The Yanks deserve it.
On the really positive side, the US team showed something again. Perhaps some of the players will get some transfer offers. The one player that I might want (besides dempsey, bradley and Howard) would be Fabian Johnson. He just signed for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga so not much chance of that happening. Maybe Julian Green as well, he is only 18 I think? He plays for Bayern Munich though so also not happening.
it was what happened before the away goals thing and penalty shoot-outs were introduced. example: Zürich advanced to the Second Round over Galatasaray by winning a coin toss after their play-off match ended 2–2. after a 2-0 and a 0-2 this tie went to a play-off that ended 2-2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1963–64_European_Cup#First_round
There were 3 arcades in the 80s. Sunspot, Quicksilver near the station and the one on Paragon St. where Teddy's is now. I spent too much time in two of those. I was on first name terms with a large number of Sunspot regulars and with the staff, Ratly, Darren and er... Mike? or was it Pete.
