Weird that you can label THFC so easily but not the plastic freedom-fighters from your ****ty island?

Does this include casualties from Israeli bombing raids?

You've got Kirung and Jakey spouting loads of their usual pish but you come on here accusing THFC of being predictable?

Aren't you embarrassed by Kirung's post earlier?

Well yes you know exactly the response you will get from certain individuals on certain topics before they have started and that most definitely includes Ciaran and Jacky (who hold similar opinions to most people from a lefty Irish nationalist background). I'm not sure why I didn't include Ciaran and Jacky responses but I would hope it was nothing to do with them having come from somewhere close to where I am originally from. I am not embarrassed at Ciaran's posts though, as firstly I am not Ciaran and I am not liable for what he says or does - and secondly there is nothing cringeworthy that I can see which would invoke an empathetical sense of embarrassment.

Anyway, if you are bored and feel like reading someone who can articulate ideas much better than me, Orwell wrote a wonderful essay on group loyalties and their effects on literary arguments http://www.geocities.jp/mickindex/orwell/orwell_WaL_en.html

"At any rate, innumerable controversial books – books for or against Soviet Russia, for or against Zionism, for or against the Catholic Church, etc. – are judged before they are read, and in effect before they are written. One knows in advance what reception they will get in what papers. And yet, with a dishonesty that sometimes is not even quarter-conscious, the pretence is kept up that genuinely literary standards are being applied."

I'm the opposite of a nationalist, I hate all concepts of pride in the state, especially in past accomplishments as they have absolutely nothing to do with me. I also feel no guilt for what the country I was born in has done in the past, as I had no say in it whatsoever.

But I will tell someone that's english to shut up when they say something that gives my country a bad name, not in defence of my country, just because as a by-product of that I will also be labelled in the same way. Growing up as one of the few english kids in my area in France has definitely taught me that you are always identified by your country of origin/skin colour/race first, and judgements will be made about you beforehand.

Maybe you think what Kirung said isn't ridiculous and you don't care. I just found it weird that you came on here and had a go at THFC.

It's just that his comments make your countryfolk look stupid, and by proxy that means you <ok>

Nah, I was more of a novelty.

Middle left area, inland from La Rochelle and not far from Poitiers.

It's a ****ing amazing place to grow up <ok>

Maybe I should feel a sense of collective embarrassment for the actions of a member of my clan but for whatever reason in this situation I just don't feel it (As opposed to the likes of the Irish state bailout which did indeed arouse personal anger and embarrassment). Anyway I don't think I particularly meant to 'have a go' at THFC, it is just when I seen he had created a thread I already knew it would be something at least favourable to Israel - or negative towards Arabs. He does a bit of a Medro, always trying to convince others with the stories that are positive about his group and negative about the other group (actually Medro never writes anything positive about his own group...).

La Rochelle is cool but it's a ****ing rip-off, there are loads of places down the coast which are much nicer/cheaper.

It's a great time to go out there though, just starting to get really hot.

    I miss France :(

He's not really a Medro, he makes at the most a couple of threads a month about the situation in the Middle-East, and it's understandable that he's pissed off with things over there (as anyone would, it's a ****ing nightmare).

All Medro does is post the same pish every ****ing day, if you hadn't merged his threads for a few months he'd have the most started on here by far. You can't really compare them.

I like reading THFC's threads, I have no pro/con opinion about the situation over there, it's ****ed and siding with anyone from the comfort of our homes is ****ing pointless (which is why Che Jakey pisses me off spouting stuff he's watched on RT <doh>)

I just thought it was a bit weird for you to feel the need to bring him up on it, that's all.
