In between all the bullshit, unwarranted whinging, this little fact has slipped by. This apparently rubbish United side with its atrocious manager have made their best start to a PL campaign in quite some time. A City side who only last month were crowned Champions by morons across the land, came to OT like cowards. You have to go back even longer for the last example of that happening. So, 2 points off the top and the toughest games of the first half of the season out of the way. Safe to say we are in the title race at this point.
I agree, we are playing better, controlling games, but just lack in the goal scoring department. LvG is turning UTD into a hard team to crack
Only take 1 goal to win a game. London's only used to have a quote of mine in his SIG stating this. He neglected to check that far less goals have won titles previously. 19 being the record.
Best start in three years - we got 24 points from the first ten games in 12/13. Not that it isn't good to have a good start, but give how **** we were over the past two seasons it's hardly proof of quality. Two points per game on average is expected at a club like Utd, this is the sort of stuff Liverpool start crowing about on the few occasions they manage to achieve it.
The concern for me is that we rarely look like scoring. It's painfully obvious that Tony the Assassin needs to be playing as a striker and Herrera has to be in the team which means that Rooney is a problem. LVG doesn't seem that bothered or interested though so I'm sure it will all work itself out.
We have two Tony the Assassins. Sadly one has gone rogue and needs to be taken out with a sniper rifle.
Yep, and all the players and the manager are mortified by that. Read any comment made on it by anyone at United and they all call it a blip or slip up
Looking at it on it's own then it yes, its nothing particularly special. But comparing us over the past few years, no point going back too far, it's a great improvement. Both points wise and position. Comparing it it to Fergies last title, which was also the last side to really dominate the league it's a little off, but getting there. Call it improvement. Steady, continuous improvement. Which is what were looking for, right?
Martial needs to be played centrally, fully agree. He's the key. We do the work but mess up the final ball or play and it comes to nothing. Martial terrifies defenders. He has teams doubling up on him like he's Ronaldo or Messi. Out wide he can be a threat and its normal for a younger striker to occupy a wide position early on but if Rooney's not there to knock them in of Martial makes 4 players look like Chelsea this year, then its a pointless exercise. Still have faith Rooney will turn it around. Watched his goals show the other night and it renewed my confidence in him. Would like to see Wilson get some game time too.
Ones a shin assassin. Totally different ball game. Seeing some of him old crosses though, where did that ability go.
Not just that. That season Rooney scored 34, the number of headers from a Valencia dink over the top. He was thinking about what he was going to do, knew where players would be. Now he just smashes it thoughtlessly.
United cracked itself No credit to Arsenal. I doubt whether Wenger has any illusion that his team has become Barcelona.
I'm fine with people coming to the conclusion that Arsenal are great or that Utd are ****. Both seem good options to me
One thing is certain though. In Martial we have now THE superstar of the premiership. I for one can say I had absolutely no doubt about his prospects #notbebe.
