You need to stop being so gullible mate. All chairmen will say that, but every player has his price. Levy has sold players in the past and he’ll do it again. If a mega offer comes in for any of those players in the summer then they could go.
I don’t believe I am being gullible, Pix. But for Levy saying what he did, I would be sorely tempted to agree with you, that we’ll struggle to hold onto our key players. We may still struggle, but I’m more confident that we’ll hold onto them given what Levy said and the way he said it. He isn’t the type of bloke to say he’s “100% confident” if he doesn’t intend to prove the point.
It’s just a soundbite HIAG. If he said ‘I’m 99% sure we’ll keep our players’ then the hacks will be all over it asking about the 1% knowing he’s not sure if anybody will be sold. He has to maintain a line right up until a fee is agreed.
