    Failcao I'll give you.

Tia Maria isn't insulting, witty, clever or anything! No idea why the old racists have been slapping each other's backs about that one!

Though in both those cases, we haven't really had to convince ourselves they are bad buys, they have done a pretty good job of convincing us themselves.

I remember Ronaldo was called the Step over kid and Twinkletoes when he first signed for United.

Although this isn't one of those instances. Di Minus is definitely better. Ossie loved it when it was explained to him (pikey Argie nonce kant).

When he came to United at 19 (I think), he wasn't even a fraction of the player he is now though.
Half of it was because he had no end product whatsoever (that came later) and half because it was just funny.

Besides, unless you have a crystal ball, you cannot always tell how good a player will end up.
Some people thought Kagawa would be better than Hazard <whistle>

The bit in bold is media influenced, revisionary nonsense.

Stevie Me is definitely the best. On the face of it it's not that offensive but nothing sums up that insufferable melt more than that slight play on the painfully annoying 'Stevie G'.

That your buzz word of the week?
    It wasn't.
In his first season, he would run at people, do some step overs and either get bundled off the ball or pass it to an opposition player.
He was a great dribbler and had great potential and still better than a lot of players.
Like I said, half of it was people just making fun more than anything.
Same with Luke Shaw being fat, when he quite blatantly isn't. Its just people taking the piss.

And why in the hell would the media want to influence people into thinking a 19 year old had no end product, regardless of whether he did or not? Doesn't exactly sell papers. He wasn't even a big name then either. Just some spotty portugese kid.
I aint saying he never completed a pass, but he wasn't even a 10th of the player he is now, you cannot argue that.

I'm afraid you're talking out of your hole. It was 12 years ago and you're a Chelsea fan, I doubt you saw many of the games he played that season. Your opinion is based on stuff you've read and heard hence it's second hand nonsense. He certainly wasn't the player he is today and he was frustrating to watch but to say he had no end product at all is completely moronic. I'll help you out. In his first season he started 28 games, scored 8 goals and got 4 assists. No end product at all.

The media hated him to begin with because of the excessive stepovers and tendency to fall over. He was also pigeon holed as King Beckham's "replacement" and was being tipped as a potentially great player so they desperately wanted him to fail. Far too foreign and skilful for the British media. Alan Green once said he would never make it as a professional footballer as he was just a circus act. I believe it was him who coined the nickname Skippy the Kangaroo. If there's anyone who didn't need to add more evidence to the fact that he's an ignorant **** it was Alan Green but he couldn't help himself. Don't join his club pal.

First of all, I watched a **** load of his games and have never listened to Alan Green (cannot stand his voice).
How you can sit there and presume to tell me anything I say is based on something I have read or heard is hilarious.
Love the stat "started" 28 games aswell, so the half dozen sub appearances dont count?
Too Foreign and skilfull for the British media? <laugh> Ok mate, whatever you say.

If you want to include the sub appearances as well that's fine. Despite the fact that most of them would have given him limited time to make an impact his stats still suggest that anyone thinking he had no end product at all is a moron. 44 appearances including subs, 8 goals, 4 assists. No end product.

Countinho this season, 55 appearances (44 starts), 7 goals, 7 assists. John Terry's player of the season.

    You're a genius.

I always suspected you were a closet United fan though so not surprised to read that you watched all our games back then.
