I really do buy French biscuits, if I buy any biscuits at all. I can really do with saving on the calories so that I can keep to the savoury stuff. When I do indulge it's the ones that have two thin biscuits with a layer of chocolate in the middle. They don't really exist as trad British biscuits. Had them on a first self-catering holiday to South of France in the early 1980's and they've remained a favourite. I could eat loads of different biscuits, but as I say, I'd just pile on the calories. It's just not worth the waddling.
please log in to view this image These guys? The brand ones are called "Prince," a slighty glazed "Rich Tea" chocolate sandwich.
That's the babies. They are quite a few brand imitators of these continental biccies these days, and they all taste fine. That slightly glazed look and taste of the biscuit part marks them as very different to the biscuit in Rich Tea, but I know what you mean. A simple yummy biccy that you can buy stacks of for tiny amounts of dosh.
There is no finer biscuit. Yesterday I picked up what I thought was a chocolate digestive from a proferred plate. When it turned out to be a chocolate hobnob I realised I had reached the high point of my day.
I would suggest that both teams in the title are fond of "Southampton Way" biscuits, and they are prepared to spend big.
I'll tell you who I wish would just fade away, Steven bloody gerrard! Only been gone five minutes & now we have segments of his tell all book shoved in our faces. Just piss off already, please.
I can imagine how happy you must have felt. One of the reasons I like the Chocolate Hob-Nob so much is because it harbours absolutely no arrogance whatsoever. It really is a very humble biscuit.
I decided this morning to try and lose a few pounds.......you're not helping. Jammie Dodgers, Jammie Dodgers, Jammie Dodgers
Southampton way biscuits are just cheaply made biscuits that have been decorated, wrapped up in handmade cellophane bags, tied up with some organic ribbon and sold at a farmers market. Great mark up but still just rich tea really though.
No such things as weekends when you are retired...in fact the weekends can be the most boring days of the week as my friends get tied up with their husbands (not as exciting as that sounds).
Perhaps you could get a friend to tie you up beyond reach of biscuits. Then release you when the weekend is over.
