Summer wasn’t handled appallingly, at least not by the Club. Perhaps you wouldn’t get so much flack if you didn’t always go for extreme views.

Main problem over summer was with Isak. Initially the Club were clearly wanting to keep him. Not surprising. Look at Forest and Gibbs-White.

Over the summer due to Isak’s stance we were slightly hamstrung as to how to proceed. Don’t forget Liverpool only made an alleged bid of £110M with our position being we would be wanting a bid of £150M. The next bid was two/three days before the transfer window shut. We got £130M. Not great if our initial position was £150M but not bad given Isak playing the Rat and Liverpool playing the system (which is fair enough). For those saying sell Isak sooner, why shouldn’t the Club try to keep a player that had signed a 6 year contract. Also who could we have sold him to given there were no other bids.

Outside of Isak we got Big Nick. He looks promising and as good as Isak was when Isak first came. A good purchase as I’m sure you will agree.

Wissa. Injured on international duty and therefore unable to judge him but looks a decent buy and looks as though he will score a few goals.

We got Elanga. He’s not been good so far but may need time to settle. Also for the first few games he didn’t have an adequate striker to play off. Not his fault and not the Club’s fault.

Ramsay. Again injured but IMO an upgrade on Longstaff. Time will tell.

Thiaw. Looks very promising and looks a good player.

Ramsdale. Decent goalkeeper. Not the greatest but don’t think he will let us down. Trafford decided Man City regardless as to when any bid submitted City had an option to match that bid. Some saying we over bid for Trafford but City still matched it.

We didn’t get a few we were said to be interested in but main ones seem to be either player choice and/or wages eg M’Buemo, Sesko and Pedro. Can’t fault Club. Have previously read (not saying from you as I can’t remember who posted it) that we shouldn’t be going for players destined for the ‘top’ clubs. An absolutely stupid stance. Don’t go for players who we think might want a ‘bigger’ club.

So, how was summer handled appallingly? I’ve rabbitted on enough but I could say similar to each of your points in your post. For me it wasn’t a great summer window but the main reason being Isak’s tantrum and it’s knock on affect.
