United game is more significant than Union SG for now.Win or lose against Union will not change anything. In fact I cannot wait to see United game on the thread.

Yep, it's like the derby - they have too many good players, and anything random could happen on the day, Won't be a walkover. But if we get the first TWO goals, then I think they'll fold. If they get the first though, as several teams have at Anfield, I think we're in trouble as they are, as they proved at Galatasaray, still lethal on the counter-attack. I can see Garnacho (sp) having a field day down our right if Trent is in his peripatetic RB role. I really would think of playing 4-2-3-1, but we'll see.

Yes, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Football is a lot about inertia. You start losing games, even "inconsequential games" and you lose the inertia.

We play to win, (but keep in our mind the Premier League game is more important).

I agree in general but this game is not important and we'd be better testing some youngsters and giving them experience than thinking we need a win in order to keep winning. I don't think that's the case here, senior players will have one eye on the Utd game and will not want to play in this one. We should have a fresh squad ready to go with Utd having played a mid week game.

Oh, I absolutely hope some younger players get a chance. I think we can do that and still play to win.

We always have to play to win but imo it'll be all youth players.

United are going to have two extra days rest, they played on Tuesday and we are playing on Thursday. Our players have to be fresh for United game.

None of our starting team for Utd will play this game so we've had more rest.

Jurgen Klopp leaves four big names at home as Liverpool confirm squad for Union SG game

Unsurprisingly, there are several high-profile absentees from the Liverpool squad to face Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday.
The club’s official website confirmed the 23-man travelling party which flew out from John Lennon Airport this afternoon, with Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Alisson Becker all left at home to prepare for the Premier League showdown against Manchester United on Sunday.

    The travelling party:

Gomez, Endo, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Chambers, Pitaluga, Scanlon, Gordon, Doak, McConnell, Kelleher, Koumas, Quansah, Hill, Bradley, Mrozek.

    Kelleher
    Bradley Gomez Quansah Scanlon/chambers
    Elliott Endo Jones
    Doak Gakpo Gordon

Endo could be changed out for mcconnell.

    Koumas could play for gakpo.

I'd be pretty annoyed if konate starts tonight and can't start v utd as a result.

Guess depends who klopp has in mind for weekend. Could also put Endo at CB as he’s played there previously.
