This thread is quite interesting. Clearly everyone admires Mackie's work rate and determination, but what does he offer on top of that? We can't even agree on his best position? Is he a forward or is he right wing? I think there was a large groundswell of opinion last season that his best position was as substitute!

So are we just using Mackie as a stick to beat Redknapp with?

The club was broken before Redknapp turned up DT, but he certainly isn't the man to mend it.

    No we're not

Both TF and Arry have espoused the requirement for players with a heart & passion for the club

    That for me says mackie

Henry is less talented than mackie and doesn't have the history we have with Jamie

Why sign him and let mackie go??

Except he wants to leave, so the heart and passion are gone?

There is no way on God's Earth that I understand signing Henry, but at the present he wants to play for us, Mackie doesn't.

As a slight aside, Redknapp did start Mackie in his first 13 matches; a run that ended at approximately the time Townsend arrived at the club. That was far more than Hughes played him so it is feasible that he would have played regularly next season.

I wonder when he made his mind up to go.

I think it's widely accepted that Mackie was never a Premiership player but his work rate has never been in question. Jamie's reputation is based on the amazing impact he made following his move from Plymouth. In reality that early form hasn't been repeated.
As for why he wants to leave, maybe he can't get on with the Wally with the brolly!

Mackie was in every single one of Redknapp's squads except the Man City match where we are told he was injured. If he didn't start he came on as sub in most of those. So when was he dropped?

I don't see much between them in terms of ability.

Given the current squad (God help us) would he be in your starting 11? If so where in what formation?

I posted last year the question which players actually care. I recall the unanimous responses were Mackie and Derry. What a shame one of our tiny congregation of players with a bit of passion is now apparently so sick of the QPR circus/debacle/pantomime that he puts in a tfr request. No doubt Taraabt and Faulin will be next shifted out or allowed to go. Who could blame them ? They have seen the likes of Samba, Bosingwa, Granero almost certainly earn far more for a lot less achieved. Over the last two seasons I've got used to not recognising the "team", but I'm beginning to have trouble recognising the club lately. Let's just hope Harry and TF's 2013/4 throw of the dice gets us a bunch of players worthy of the shirt. One final rant, Harry, show some professionalism and keep your trap shut until the ink is dry. It really is enough for a fan having a team that has been laughing stock on the pitch, without your PR skills making our Board appear morons too.

Jamie Mackie would be one of the first names on the team sheet next season.Hes QPR through and through and always gives plenty of effort. Just another small piece of the jigsaw whilst we are going to struggle this season if hes off.

Cant believe Park is part of our plans this season. He is hopeless on what ive seen in a QPR shirt and will be a complete lightweight in the Championship where men need to be men and stand up and be counted. Evidence of that was his woeful performance in the Cup game against MK Dons and many other cameo performances he put in. I would like him to prove me wrong though.

Completely agree. Well past it now.
In actual fact I dont want him to have the chance to prove me wrong as he is that bad I dont want him in a Rangers shirt again. I bet he will be though - and on the bloody wing. Never a winger in a million years.

You're missing the point roller. We've been **** on the field for 2 seasons. When properly deployed mackie had delivered. I grant you he's no messi but by Christ he's a damn sight better than Barton park granero and bleedin Karl Henry

If you believe otherwise then god help us

Can't wait for more of TF's twitter ****e telling us we're signing 'the right sort of players'

I'm just asking questions mate, I'm saving my opinions for his "farewell and thanks" article which hopefully won't be needed yet.

When you say properly deployed, what position in what formation?

Redknapp has just made it worse, while earning millions of pounds. I've had enough, I'm not going to another game until he's gone.

My hate is approaching Hughes levels and will pass that pretty soon when we score at a rate of a goal per month.
