There's no way he would have been the reason for a sudden improvement. Unless he took over full duties and cabbage is merely a figurehead (which is highly doubtful)

I unfortunately agree. Southampton will have hot a massive confidence boost from their cup victory whereas our forward line will already believe they can't score after the 1st 3 games of the season.
