last season I went to the Preston away match with a pal of mine (Preston supporter), before the match I met his family who kept saying "is Tom on the match today , is Bill on the match, Thought nothing of it at the time until last week when my Pal told me he's back in Preston for their next match and taking his wife, I had to look at him twice when he said " She's on the game too"

not sure how to do Off Topic... apologies

Strange saying ..
What does it mean ??

A wild guess.."going to".
I live in Preston. They say, "Are you going on North End on Saturday?" That's when it is on a Saturday, of course, and when Preston are at home. I've only heard 'on' used instead of 'to' in this context round here.

My pal is from there and family still live there and I’ve heard them use it instead of “to” many times
