Thats right flyer , we had 40 percent of the ball , they had 15 shots , we had 5.we had no corner kicks they had 5 . They had injuries coming out of the woodwork .A great win , but the beginning of what this article is about .If we can keep winning and playing deep and having no shots , Im in.I just think these facts and stats will catch up to us if we dont figure it out

Only just seen this post,so apologies for lack of response.

My "sour taste" still exists, but it wasn't caused by Monk,or his accession to the throne.
It was caused by the shabby treatment meted out to Laudrup by Jenkins.
The fact that the Club subsequently had to pay him a substantial sum, would appear to vindicate my opinion.

Contrary to popular belief,I have no beef with Monk, and wish him well.

As for "snidey posts",well, most of those emanate from the Monk sycophants who simply deplore Laudrup, and have closed their minds to his achievements.
The irony is that the man they now worship hasn't achieved a single thing.
The early exit from the League Cup, means that Monk will have to finish in the top half of the table, AND win the FA Cup, to better Laudrup's achievements.
Good luck wishing/hoping for that.

"It's like, give the guy a chance". Not sure I understand what you are inferring here. I'm not standing in his way. Jenkins has given him his chance, nothing to do with me.

"Also, don't presume I don't accept that fans have opinions". I'm not sure what you are inferring here either. Where did I say that?

Who exactly are these posters who are waiting for Monk "to fail"?

The mere sight of the name Laudrup is anathema to some, too many, people who frequent this Forum.
Only they know where their level of hatred and antipathy comes from.
I think it's a football related thing, and doesn't seem to infect the follower's of other main line sports.
They will turn on Monk eventually, since that is how they operate.
The negativity and bitterness that still gravitates towards Martinez,Rodgers, and to a lesser extent,Sousa,is proof of that.

The Monk/Laudrup debate will continue to rage as long as people breathe and post here, and it will invariably be started by Monk followers, sniping at Laudrup.

They can't help themselves, for jealousy is such a captivating attraction for them.

The hatred seems to be coming from you. Nobody has shown hatred towards Laudrup. We have recognised that he was outstanding in his first season, and that we were in trouble before his rightful sacking. We have moved on under Monk, and are in a fantastic league position and have beaten both Utd and Everton so far this season. Yes Monk has made mistakes and is still learning, that is/was to be expected, but the jealousy and bitterness/hatred is coming from those who didn't and still don't want Monk in charge.
Monk has achieved a great deal in his career, and if it wasn't for the likes of him we wouldn't be where we are today. Maybe some could show a little more respect towards our former captain and current leader, rather than belittle him at every single given opportunity.

I started this article because of some obvious"" Problematic stats"". Not about ManU , Laudrup or Sousa .Some here turned it into that with their heads solidly in the sand .We better get this stats fixed in the near future or we will find trouble .No shots , staying deep while shots come our way and no possession..These are problems that need to be addressed and quickly.

Valley: "Nobody has shown hatred towards Laudrup" Hatred is a strong word but you must have been blind not to have seen some of the comments on this board. The disrespect shown is laughable if it wasn't so sad. Between them, Penclawdd's answer to the Chuckle Brothers (The Cockle Twins) have described Laudrup as "useless"; "the worst Manager in our history" and yesterday we even heard from the unfunny straight man of that combo that getting to 9th in the League and winning a Cup was in fact a Rodgers achievement, not Laudrup's. <laugh> I'm absolutely serious, folks. What a croc.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I'd like to think that many posters find that not only laughable but disrespectful. Thankfully those two carry little weight and seem to be in the minority here. More pro-Monk supporters like yourself Valley tend to acknowledge Laudrup's achievements, whilst those in Laudrup's corner are more than prepared to give Monk a chance. I've even said that given time he may prove to be the better manager of the two.

But he's achieved nothing yet.

Give Monk a chance? One or two are jumping at the bit to give a dig at Laudrup at every given opportunity. The same one or two listers haven't given Monk a shroud of credit for what he has done since February.
I'd also argue that the disrespect shown at Monk is pathetic. But I'm getting fed up of reading comments that only the so called pro Monk supporters are being negative, disrespectful etc. There have been plenty of negative, disrespectful posts directed at Monk in recent weeks too from those that are still pissed off we sacked ML.

Well you're entitled to that view but my perception is that most posters are a little more balanced than that, recognising Laudrup's achievements whilst saying that Monk has done well so far but has achieved nothing yet. Anything outside that view one way or the other are extreme and held by a minority imo.

Here you go again, making things up to suit your own agenda.

Your post is dripping in hypocrisy, but, hey, some things never change.

I DON'T HATE MONK.HOW MANY MORE ****ING TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THAT?

I am,however entitled to hold opinions, and to air them, and I don't insult or abuse Monk when I post.
If my not licking Monk's ass is a problem for you, then that's what it is - YOUR PROBLEM.

When the Club, under Monk's leadership, ACTUALLY achieves something tangible, not temporary, such as the current League position,I'll be one of the first to acknowledge it.

However, since there is currently NOTHING to acknowledge, other than an early exit from the League Cup,I will hold my counsel.

"Nobody has shown hatred towards Laudrup".

Well, that's a classic piece of understatement, and anyone who is even vaguely familiar with the rants from the Monk camp know how much hatred and abuse has been thrown his way.
In fact, the Penclawdd double act, still enjoy themselves in that direction.
Not so many months ago,you were as equally effusive with your anti Laudrup rhetoric, but,as I have stated recently, you have toned down.

I praised Laudrup when we were winning and rightly so. I also slammed Laudrup for the endless dreadful performances too. You talk about early exit from the league cup, I didn't see you bring it up when we got ko'd v Birmingham. There hasn't been a level of hatred, except for maybe one poster, who in fair said many months beforehand that it would go pear shaped. I have however, seen a lot of negative anti Monk posts since this season started from some in the Laudrup camp (excluding those who have praised as well as criticised). That's what my issue is. Some seem to be continuing to criticise Monk for the sake of it.
I even recall some saying our defence has been poor and laughing because Monk was a defender. Well as it happens we have one of the best defences in Europe atm, have beaten Utd, Everton, top 6, and Monk has lead us to the best start in PL history. Yes there have been some baffling decisions ie subs and timings etc, but some on here would have you believe that we are rubbish and in the relegation zone and come across to me as gutted that Monk is well on his way to proving that minority wrong.
As for my problem, my problem is with you attacking posters whether directly or indirectly whose opinions differ to yours.

Wow, so so spot on. It's exactly how I see it & I wasn't a Laudrup slagger either!!

Top post Valley...

The attacks haven't been one way. Remember that, because sadly you seem to ignore it when it goes the other way.

I have banned both Dai and Phil when stepping out of line in the past.

Endless?
Come of it!
Birmingham was a shocker and there were a few drab performance when there was a skeleton squad to call on and players were playing with injuries.

But we all see things differently and you can slam Laudrup all you want so why shouldn't those who see fault in Monk be allowed the same privilege.

What a lot seem to be annoyed at is the way Laudrup and any player associated with him are dismissed and denied their due regard for doing a job for us.

No one, Laudrup supporter or not, is claiming Monk is rubbish but some are questioning weaknesses. Everyone hope we stay as we are or improve, many believe with a bit better game management we could have been in 3rd after the Everton game. In fact I suggested we should win tomorrow but got abuse for having an 'agenda'!
And some are critical of Monk's off field antics with previous managers.

All opinions.

I do need to point out though 'beaten Utd, Everton, top 6 is incorrect. On day 1 everyone started equal but United nor Everton are orf have been top 6 this season.

Your last part sums my point up perfectly. As for the we SHOULD beat Arsenal tomorrow. Wow!

I think most realise for various reasons we should be higher, even where Southampton are & it's a shame we're not. That's something to be seen as 'positive', that potentially, Monk's team could be seen that way!! Instead, some are using it as a 'stick' to whack Monk with, at every opportunity!!

That's an even bigger shame...

I see the Knackered one is still menstruating on this thread, the lowlife needs to get out more!.....................<laugh>
