Apologies if this has been discussed previously but what is the thinking behind transfer fees not being fully disclosed at the time of the deal being done?
Assuming all football clubs have to report their financial dealings at board level, to share holders and to the tax man why muck about and refuse to say how much was paid for the player?
Case in point is our last signing Nasser El Khayati who by all accounts cost us £350,000 but is showing up as undisclosed fee on the BBC transfer page. Who or what are we scared of by declaring his value?
I am aware that clubs, agents and players may not want the ins and outs of their contract made public but the actual cash sum should, in my not very humble opinion, be made public.
