Underwhelming maybe but all is not lost.

Aye, got to say I agree looking at things from such a perspective. Sometimes all the hype can get a man carried away, steady progress is a more realistic point of view.

We may be well in the bottom six by xmas if you look at the fixture list it is very similar to last year, this concerns me as I have mentioned before, some one somewhere is screwing us. However I do not expect Gus to be talking about needing miracles come May as our squad will be strengthened in January if it is needed, the main thing is maintaining continuity and not taking any short term panic measures We have made some good solid signings this window and Rome wasn,t built in a day.

    haha,

I keep doing that, Giacc for Buckley.

I'm clear that Giacc is our best player, and always forget him doing teams...

Giacc should be played every opportunity for me. Worked hard to get into the Italian national squad just to be dropped when he came to us, got to have hurt the lad & hope he can return to it by showing what he is capable of playing for us. Never saw any article of him moaning rather all to do with getting his head down & doing the best he can, should be given his chance now that Borini looks to be dead.

Totally agree Smug. It's just a little frustrating watching Hull, hardly the most glamorous of clubs, being really active and getting them in. I don't understand what's going on at our club.

Long contracts, high wages and promises of bonuses & escape clauses I'd imagine..

Hull's spending is being paid for by loading debt on the club, as Leeds did, as far as I know.

I agree mate, I'm at an age where I'd happily see us spend £100 million and go '**** or bust'.

The **** it lets go for broke squad?

    I'm in.

Spent many a great day watching the lads in the old 3rd Div.
Yes always wanted to be back with the big boys, but never stopped me going while we were in the lower leagues.
That's what pisses me off these days, when "supporters" say they are going to stop supporting our great club if they aren't in the Prem.

Ill be honest, a transfer window where i felt it offered so much promise has left me deflated. Now i dont know whether this is an overall feeling or perhaps attributed to being let down by the Borini situation. One thing i do know is im glad saggy chops never got his hands on him. I couldnt look at that smug twat signing him.

Defense looks no better than last year...Van for Alonso?
Midfield looks a tad better...if Rodwell gets match fit and stays fit.
Upfront the same....not one of them can score regularly. Total number of goals between them last season was p*ss poor.

All in all I see much of the same unless Gus has a goalscorer and a defender up his sleeve ion the next hour or so.

Depressed at the moment....expected big things(you think I'd learn!)

    Midfield massively better?????

Last game we played a young lad from Brighton and still have Seb doing the leg work. I hope Gomez and Alvez can step up. Still miss having Colback for me
