Guys, just to once again say thanks for the fab discussion. I know it almost overheated but on the whole this has been a terrific thread and I thank everyone for their honest feelings towards the race. 100 posts- great to see the race attracting the interest it deserves. ONE WEEK TO GO!
If he hacked up in the King George then I would imagine that the lure of the Gold Cup would be too strong. As it is, I doubt he will stay in the King George personally, so, like Oddy, "Ryanair I should think" is probably the best guess.
Master Minded will never run in a Gold Cup as long as I have a hole in my ****. He could hack up by 15 lengths on Boxing Day but 3m at Kempton is proven to strong running 2 milers, but I can't remember a strong running 2 miler that's ever run in the Gold Cup let alone challenged. No two tracks differ more by design IMO....
Apologies - that sounded like it was written after consecutive defeats in a photo, no malice intended
Yes, and at least with mild weather forecast, for next week, we know it should be taking place. Last year I chose to work on Christmas Day so I could have Boxing Day off to watch the racing.....with working Christmas Day and no King George to watch it was my crappiest Christmas ever!
I've been looking everywhere for news of Master Minded. Apparently he's out of his plaster and progressing well That was from an article in the RP, from two days ago, so you probably already know this.
