If we compare both managers at a time where they had their big chance Allerdyce's '04 Bolton side (which was "his" team) were soundly outplayed in the league cup final against middlesborough while in contrast Pardew's west ham side in '06 came within seconds of beating the reigning European champions (and future European cup finalists the following year) before losing to the lottery that is penalties

The real truth is that EVERY manager in EVERY league will be under presure when the season starts. The only difference is the level of pressure. Football management has never been a secure profession. Some may appear more secure than others, but given the right (well actually wrong - but you know what I mean) circumstances all of them could possibly face the sack.
