I have reservations about any hyped "prospect" we have, ever since Haris Vuckic was hyped as one of the best players in Europe.
I won't believe anything until I see them play. I remember when we losing to Stevenage and Pardew's masterplan to save face was to bring on Phil Airey. Airey went straight from us to Blyth Spartans and is currently playing for Red Row Welfare FC, yeah I've never heard of them either. When the mastermind that was Dennis Wise came in we had a whole load of hilariously bad prospects like Vuckic, Ranger and Wesley Ngo Baheng and god knows who else. The only decent prospect we seemed to have in recent years was Kevin Mbabu and we let him go and he wouldn't have got into the team these days anyway. Basically I'm saying our youth team ****ing blows and it has done ever since the early 90s.
Ooh busted. Wanna know more? They lost 4-0 to Shilbottle CW in the Stephen Carey Memorial cup final: https://www.google.com/amp/s/theste.../shilbottle-triumph-over-red-row-welfare/amp/ And before you pick me up for saying I've never heard of Stephen Carey or why there's a mickeyouse trophy named after him, I did try to do my research, this is the best I could do: https://www.stevencareyhair.co.uk/p...VOuYXBERoS7j6M_kHlYtMIwixSKMhJEUaArStEALw_wcB So yes, in summary Phil Airey now plays for a team who lost 0-4 to Shilbottle CW in the final of a trophy in memory of a still living guy who runs an overpriced hair salan in Mayfair. I've never heard the suffix CW for a football team btw, what does it mean? Crusty Willies? Cock Wombles? **** ****ers?
Coal Workers??? Its an old colliery town. Nickname seems to be the Colliers. If only Trev had a better memory, he'd probably know when they were formed and why they are called that.
Ignore Fat Boy, he knows nothing. Colliery Welfare. So, at least, originally they were formed from members of a Colliery Welfare Club which again originally were Coal Miners or ex Coal Miners. Prices used to be dead cheap and, at Backworth, you could always find a free snooker table.
WeII done Trev. I knew you would know the club's full life history, I just didn't think you'd remember it.
Nah, really don't see it. I wouldn't want him. If he was any good he wouldn't have ended up in the mickey mouse Swiss league, and no he's out of their the best he can get is Wolfsberg at the height of his career? I don't see any Prem teams begging for his signature.
