Good draw in the end, Crewe usually have a pretty good academy team. Nice to see Lewis-Potter on target again.
Hull City Academy @HullCityAcademy Our U23s' forthcoming home game against @BurnleyOfficial will now be played at the KCOM Stadium on Friday 15th February (KO 7pm).
I know it’s been asked before but I don’t think anyone answered it, does anyone know what the issue is with Adam Curry? He looked steady enough when he got his chance in the first team but he seems to be completely out of the picture now.
Only that Nige has started to mention his name again when referring to the pathway for the youngsters. He had stopped mentioning him, saying Ritson and McKenzie were 2 central defenders coming through. However, that was around the time he was being looked at by GY, but not sure whether his trial there was just for a loan move or permanent.
Bloody hell I played for SouthCave in the 80's not sure we'd have competed against City's Under 23's in those days. I'd put a wager on that at least one Elliot will be in the Cave team.
I played for them as a kid, so did my brother. I didn’t realise they played as part of the football league system, IIRC they were a Sunday league team when I was a lad. Good stuff.
My memory of playing S. Cave is that we were drawn against them in one of the cup competitions, and no ref showed up so their manager reffed. The game came to the last few minutes and we were 4-3 down. We got a corner on the left, I took it, hitting it with my right foot, scored directly from the corner, and their guy gave it offside.
Yeah, the ref not turning up seemed to be a regular event, maybe Cave was too far out in those days. Normally it'd be one of our subs who to make sure they werent accused of bias, would just gave them everything. We were a team of very young kids and once came across a veteran who was ex semi pro. I actually knew him well through cricket, He didn't make it to that level because of his footballing ability, he was generally a minder for a succession of ex pros. It was carnage! He kicked anything that moved. Usually, about neck high! The ref (our sub) darent do anything. We brought sub on so we could change the ref, but the seemed to be worse!
Yes, very much the case in outlying places. We used to play also at Everthorpe borstal and one of the warders used to ref, they didn't **** about with their inmates.
