We're solid at back and better than Palace going forward We had a chance with only keeper to beat but did pathetic lob Palace just scored
Guessing we didn’t bother with the kid from Wimbledon. Ah. We will have to wait for the window to open.
Looking through the twitter feed he looks as if he had a good game, and was unlucky on a couple of occasions saving well only for them to score from the follow up.
Loan Watch Telford U V Gainsborough T 3-2 Fleming was suspended due to the red card the previous week. Hinchliffe started on the bench, came on at 77 minutes when Gainsborugh were 3-2 down, but couldn't help then lose 3-2 and therefore get relegated. Atherton Collieries V Tadcaster A 0-0 Both Annan and Barkworth were on the bench, Annan came on at 77 minutes, but Barkworth was an unused substitute. Curzon Ashton V Spennymoor 1-0 Adam Curry started and played the full 90 minutes at centre back, but Tadcaster lost the game 1-0. Chester V Maidstone U 1-3 Maidstone had a good away win at Chester, Greg Luer was and unused substitute. Guiseley V Woking 1-2 Jonny Edwards was not in the match day squad.
I'd forgotten about Charlie Andrew's being out on loan. Congratulations to him on being the Pikes Player of the season.
LOAN WATCH. Gainsborough T V Tamworth 3-0 Already relegated Gainsborough finish off the season with a 3-0 win. Fleming was not in the match day squad as he was still banned for his straight red card in a previous fixture. Ben Hinchliffe was a substitute and came on at 63 minutes when it was already 3-0. Tadcaster V Mossley 2-0 Tadcaster got the win that assures them a play-off place and will play Bamber Bridge Tuesday night in the first game of the play offs. Will Annan played 90 minutes and had a good game by all accounts. Ellis Barkworth was an unused substitute. Spennymoor Town V Southport FC 2-1 A dramatic afternoon for Spennymoor, they thought their win was enough to secure a play-off place, but Bradford P.A. scored in the 94th minute which cruelly left Spennymoor outside the play off place. Adam Curry started and played the full 90 minutes and has been a regular centre back whilst on loan there. As a matter of interest Matty Dixon (ex City u23’s) came on as an 84 minutes substitute for Spennymoor. Bridlington Town V Pickering 1-3 Not sure whether Charlie Andrew’s played or not as no team sheet available, but I assumed so, but as reported he picked up he managers player of the season award, so obviously had a good loan spell whilst with Pickering. Woking V Dover 1-2 Jonny Edward’s was not in the match day squad for their last game of the season. Maidstone U V FC Halifax T 0-0 Greg Luer was not in their match day squad. Summary Not sure of Luer’s and Edward’s contract situation but I was say that they will be released if out of contract. Just haven’t kicked on, which is often the case when asked to step up to first team football.
Tadcaster played their play-off semi final against Bamber Bridge at the Tom Finney Stadium, Will Annan started, (Tadcasters Zidane), and Will Barkworth was on the bench and was an unused substitute. Tadcaster took the lead with a well worked goal finished off by Will Annan with a great header at the far post. (See clip below). Annan was substituted at 74 minutes with the scored level at 1-1, but Bamber Bridge took the lead on 79 minutes, and saw the game out winning 2-1. So Bamber Bridge go through to the final.
Quite an interesting read, I wasn't aware that Hinchliffe and Annan were expected to be released in a couple of weeks... What happened next to Hull City's 2016 Premier League Cup final side? https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...news/hull-city-academy-premier-league-1531257
Apparently, Hinchliffe and Annan have already been told they're being released, along with Yates and Barkworth (courtesy of Rick).
Olley and Annan are the only 2 who are being released I would say might have had a future with City, but it seems that will not be the case.
