I get the impression that Casey isn't kicking on from the earlier promise?

He still knows where the goal is. Last time I saw it, we were 1-0 down and Mwamba had been sent off.

Just a question, asked honestly out of genuine ignorance...

Do we know how many of our academy players were born within a 3 mile radius of the Valley.
    And who they are?

No slight intended towards youngsters who come from further afield, but I was wondering how good a job our youth system does when it comes to growing potential of local lads.

Why a three mile radius? I would say the majority of today’s U21 team are South London lads. Most of them joined Charlton very young. Some as young as Under 8

Three miles would be roughly the border of territories of other teams; Millwall, Welling Utd, West Ham etc.

Of course I don't mind a lad from Palace or Gillingham territory wanting to join Charlton's academy, but I wouldn't consider those areas 'ours' to expect recruits to come from. Perhaps that's an old-fashioned viewpoint.

That is very old fashioned. The scouts are all over South London and various other places.

We are beating Ipswich 2-0 at the moment. Ollie Hobden and a screamer from Henry Rylah. What a great U21s we have got this year.
