Most embarrassing was the sight of a bunch of 14 year old local hard nuts been escorted to the stadium by a half a dozen coppers.. 2nd most embarrassing was the lack of sound from our fans.... 3rd most embarrassing was some of our fans clapping off Long when he was substituted. When Walters comes back to the KC I am going to give him a standing ovation when he makes a five yard pass.
Why? Isn't that the perfect way to deal with an ex-player who did well for us and hasn't done anything wrong? Clap him before and after, ignore him while he's playing? In terms of embarrassing, people desperate for us to be more like the wonderful Palace fans is up there.
Its not as if he had a long career at the KC is it? ..If he had tore us a new arsehole, then I might have contributed, but he didn't, he was anonymous.
Totally agree, the Palace fans I spoke to can't stand them. It's possibly why at the KC they were stood separate from the main group and few took up their chants.
Missed this earlier. They always look s**t written, and we need some funny and with a local reference, but I'll start the ball rolling... Delilah. Mo Mo Mo Diame Mo Mo Mo Diame He's class, and I'm sure he'll skip past ten men and he'll score he's Momo Diame if he gets the ball he'll score more. Brim full of Asha We've got Hatem Ben Arfa in the City side Here's to you Andy Robertson, City love you more than you will know oh oh oh God Bless you please Andy Robinson The KC holds a place for those who play hey hey hey Jeff Lynne. He'll bring you down, Bruce He'll bring you down, Bruce He'll bring you down, Bruce He'll bring you down. Come on without, come on within you ain't seen nothing like Stephen Quinn.
The Quinn one, I dont think we've ever sung that one have we? I dunno why, we should. We didnt even sing Steve Bruce yesterday did we? We dont have a song for one of the most immaculate defenders we've ever had either. "You'll never beat James Chester" to the old Des Walker tune.
Diame has a chant which was sang yesterday, something along the lines of: Stevie Bruce, went down South, with a British army, he came back with a f*cking tank - super Mo Diame.
I sit in the North and we were stood singing for the majority of the game, but large groups of fans are less likely to join in when you put in a drab performance like the 2nd half was. I know the performance should have then signaled fans chanting in order to encourage and support, but if we're being honest, that doesn't happen does it? I applauded Long, he wasn't exactly a villain but still scored 4 vital goals and assisted a couple in order to help us stay up, considering our form in the 2nd half of the Season was terrible, him and Jelavic saved our bacon. Would 6 months merit a boo? Listen to some of you. And in regards to the kids that get escorted away, it happens with every Club, not just ours. They spend too much time swearing at FIFA and watching Green Street that's all.
Why do they hate them? They do everything most of the posters on this forum want our fans to do, the stand, they sing and they support, from the first minute to the last.
I don't really think he deserved much of a reaction at all to be honest, he was okay for us, probably didn't justify his price tag, missed a lot more chances than he scored and was gone at the first opportunity.
Most people want atmospheric support, not bangles and drums and communal dancing. The Palace fans say it kills the proper chants when they get going.
Are they Palace fans? They have a totally different dynamic to fans in Europe. I've been to a few games in Europe, and they make decent youtube clips, but for a regular matchday experience, someone squawking through a microphone with no real reflection on the game doesn't do it for me. If there's a group trying to make a noise, such as the Ulltra's, I think they should be helped, but not at the expense of everything else. There's room for all.
I've been to Lyon a few times and sat in the section right next to their ultras (Bad Gones), they're the ONLY part of the stadium which makes any noise, loudspeaker, fans standing on seats; the rest are just like our West stand. Lyon isn't a football town - St Etienne is.
There's not many groups of fans in this country that would organise things like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3PNn40JLkA&list=UUgTUDA0kB-YIg9YT4dCAZKg Why do our 'Ulltras never try anything like this for the North stand?
The ulltras are a very small group that are keen to make some noise. I reckon Charlie was right earlier, when she said the emphasis of effort should be on the quieter areas of the ground.
They are not big enough is the only reason I can think of. Liverpool have organised something similar through the Spirit of Shankley. They advertise before hand and hold rehearsals I like watching videos of European fans and some of the Palace ones but really want something that reflects us, as Hull City supporters, not a mirror image of St Pauli. Even St Pauli ultras have rehearsals. We have three or maybe four areas that want to sing. We should be looking at ways we can make that work so we're singing the same song at the same time. For that we need organisation and communication between the stands. The communication could be either visible or by mobile phone. To improve the atmosphere we have to want it to change and overcome the obstacles which exist. I suggested a meeting to try and co-ordinate our singing better, has that fallen on deaf ear? We have nearly a month until Spurs to try and get something sorted. Nobody's going to do it for us, its up to us to make a difference.
