    Ah yeah was great <laugh>

I was so glad you won it tbh…couldn’t have Arsenal winning it…thought they were nailed on at one point with a 5 point advantage.

but still…unfortunately, it doesn’t mean Lesta would make the cut in an all time 20

I did check the thread title, and it says ultimate PL 20, so whether you’ve won the PL is irrelevant to the ultimate bit.
Just about all on the thread have Leicester omitted, so even with “we won” with the selective title, you’ve not made the cut.
I did notice on one of the earlier posts Charlton made the cut, that must sting a bit <laugh>

I'm not taking sides, but I do want to <laugh>

Anyway, I still don't get why ppl are selecting Bolton, I can't think of anything they've achieved in my lifetime - unless ppl are going further back.

Not at all mate ... if there was a historic achievements league then deservedly ... and a lot of posters are treating this as partly that obviously.

For me, I'd put forward the following case for my own club - have won all 3 (4) domestic trophies in the last 25 years (not that many clubs have)

Pretty good fan base - Leicester is the 10th biggest city in the UK population wise (and the biggest in the East Midlands) - we are also the only fully professional club within the county boundaries. Stadium is being expanded to accommodate just over 40k putting it up there in the top 20 in England on ground capacity.

Now established in the Premier League with regular top 10 finishes.

A club with forward momentum, committed owners and great ambition.

    That's it m'lud. <cheers>

I'm going to add Sunderland to my list, historically under Bob Stokoe, but mainly because of the fan base they have demonstrated down in L1, which has surpassed anything I've seen at that level, in my lifetime before. I'm also going to add Jock Stein as manager to Celtic, due to Fosse nudging my memory. So I'm up to 14 now...the remaining 6 is going to take some thinking. I have considered Arsenal, but a domestic double don't make the cut alone these days.

    Ipswich Robson
    Forest Clough
    Crazy Gang
    Leeds Revie
    Pool Paisley
    United Fergie
    Everton Kendall
    Palace Venables
    Spurs Nicholson
    Chelsea Jose
    Celtic Stein
    Rangers don't remember managers
West Ham either Greenwood or Lyall era Bonds/Moore
    Sunderland Stokoe

I don't know how that happened, but my post ended up on the Southampton board, how weird. <laugh>

Ignoring our OBVIOUS snubbing, Sunderland are a big club and will be PL again soon.

I didn't snub your lot mate, I did have a brief think about Newcastle, but couldn't think what they'd achieved in my lifetime - Bobby Robson I've already selected for Ipswich, I remember Keegan having some rant once, about Fergie and United I think, but you've got to win stuff to be in my list.

Sorry to say it but Toon have won nowt, they've been longer without a trophy than Spurs, if you go much longer the pundits will be out digging for prehistoric remains in rock faces. At least Stokoe did win the FA Cup and beat the English best at the time, that was some achievement.

You might note I've not chosen City either, I just can't select them, because it was all based around silly money, so doubt Toon will get on my list in the future either. Ok, I made an exception for Chelsea and Jose, but Jose was the special one, despite me being his critic at Tottenham.

I had thought about Wenger at Arsenal, but no one picks the Gunners for anything, it just becomes a boring 1-0 to the Arsenal thread otherwise. Then there was the double winning side of George Graham and that goal by Charlie Geroge, come ooooon, you all know what goal I mean surely...

But still nah, it's Arsenal aint it!
